Starting Pitchers

Minnesota will start Taj Bradley, who enters with a 9-4 record, a 3.65 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP and 139 strikeouts. Seattle counters with George Kirby, who owns an 8-9 record, a 3.98 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP and 107 strikeouts. Bradley holds the better record, lower ERA, lower WHIP and higher strikeout total, giving the Twins a modest but meaningful starting-pitching advantage.

Minnesota Brings the More Productive Lineup

The Twins entered Saturday with a 56-55 overall record after defeating Seattle 5-3 in Friday’s series opener. Minnesota overcame an early two-run deficit by scoring twice in the second inning, twice in the seventh and once in the eighth. That victory moved the Twins above .500 for the first time since April 21 and extended their winning streak to four games.

Minnesota entered Saturday batting .244 with 913 hits, 130 home runs and 523 runs. The Twins also carried a .318 on-base percentage and a .406 slugging percentage. Their 130 home runs were identical to Seattle’s total, but Minnesota had scored 80 more runs and collected 71 more hits. Those differences give the Twins the more consistent and balanced offensive profile.

Bradley strengthens Minnesota’s position in the series finale. His 139 strikeouts demonstrate an ability to control innings without relying exclusively on his defense, while his 1.21 WHIP is considerably lower than Kirby’s mark. Minnesota’s primary objective will be avoiding an early deficit similar to the one it faced Friday. If Bradley limits Seattle during the opening innings, the Twins’ superior offensive production should give them an opportunity to take control.

Seattle Needs Kirby to Stabilize the Series Finale

The Mariners entered Saturday with a 53-58 overall record after losing seven of their previous nine games. Friday’s defeat was especially frustrating because Seattle scored three runs during the first two innings but failed to score again. The Mariners went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left six runners aboard.

Seattle entered Saturday batting .229 with 842 hits, 130 home runs and 443 runs. The Mariners carried a .308 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage below Minnesota’s .406 mark. Their power production remains respectable, but the lower batting average and run total indicate that the lineup has struggled to create sustained pressure when the home run is not available.

Kirby must deliver a controlled performance to keep Seattle competitive. His 3.98 ERA is respectable, but his 1.38 WHIP suggests Minnesota should receive opportunities with runners on base. The Mariners cannot afford another late collapse after their bullpen surrendered the lead Friday. Kirby needs to work deep into the game while Seattle’s offense finds a way to convert more of its limited scoring chances against Bradley.

Minnesota Twins vs Seattle Mariners Picks and Prediction

Moneyline Pick:

  • Minnesota Twins

I am taking Minnesota on the moneyline. The Twins own the better overall record, stronger recent form and more productive offense. Bradley also carries the superior starting-pitching numbers, entering with a 3.65 ERA and 1.21 WHIP compared with Kirby’s 3.98 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.

Seattle’s home-field advantage and Kirby’s strike-throwing ability make this a competitive matchup, but the Mariners have scored 80 fewer runs than Minnesota. The Twins have also shown the ability to respond when trailing, as demonstrated by Friday’s comeback victory. I would back Minnesota at approximately even money or as a small underdog.

Run Line Pick:

  • Minnesota Twins +1.5

Minnesota plus 1.5 runs is the preferred run-line position. Bradley has the pitching profile needed to keep the game close, and the Twins’ offense holds meaningful advantages in batting average, hits, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and runs scored.

Seattle may be capable of earning a narrow home victory behind Kirby, but its inconsistent offense makes a multi-run win less convincing. The Mariners failed to add to an early lead Friday and have struggled to generate sustained production throughout the season. Taking the additional run provides valuable protection in a matchup that should remain competitive into the later innings.

Total Pick:

  • Under 8.5

I prefer the under if the total is set at 8.5. Bradley and Kirby both enter with ERAs below 4.00, and Seattle’s offense has produced only 443 runs through 111 games. The Mariners scored three times during the first two innings Friday but were held scoreless over the final seven frames.

Minnesota’s offense presents the greater threat to the selection, particularly after scoring five runs in the opener. However, Kirby is capable of limiting the Twins, and both starters should have an opportunity to work into the middle innings. I would play Under 8.5 while becoming more cautious if the market opens at 7.5.

Prediction: Minnesota Twins 4, Seattle Mariners 3
