Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers Picks and Prediction

In the opening game of a three-game American League series, the Minnesota Twins are taking on the Texas Rangers inside Globe Life Field on Tuesday night in our Twins vs. Rangers prediction. Both teams were off on Monday. The Twins are fourth in the AL Central with a 67-89 record and are sending young righty Zebby Matthews to the mound. The Rangers are third in the AL West with a 79-77 record and have veteran southpaw Patrick Corbin taking the ball. First pitch focus — MLB picks for Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers that cut through the noise.

Twins Looking Towards 2026

The Minnesota Twins are looking to build some momentum into the offseason after their 6-2 home win over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. The lineup was able to go 10-for-34 with a pair of walks and 10 strikeouts on the day as Brooke Lee and Royce Lewis each hit a home run, while Kody Clemens and Austin Martin each stole a base. The Twins went 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position and stranded six men on base. Simeon Woods Richardson did not factor into the decision as he pitched five innings and gave up two runs.

The Twins are sending young right-hander Zebby Matthews to pitch and he is struggling as in 15 starts, he is 4-6 in 72.1 innings with a 5.97 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. He has been struggling a bit with the ability to record outs as he has a .304 batting average against. Matthews has not faced the Rangers in his young career thus far.

Rangers Have Long Shot at Postseason

The Texas Rangers are looking to recover after Sunday’s 4-2 home loss against the Miami Marlins in their most recent game. The Rangers were able to go just 5-for-33 with three walks and 13 strikeouts at the plate as Wyatt Langford hit a home run and stole a base. Texas finished 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position while leaving seven men on base. Merrill Kelly struggled to give length in the loss as he gave up three runs in 4.1 innings of work.

Veteran left-hander Patrick Corbin is going to be taking the mound for the Texas Rangers in this game and has been holding his own as he is 7-10 with a 4.33 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in 147.2 innings over 29 games (28 starts). He has been doing a good job in terms of limiting the amount of hits, as he has allowed a .266 batting average against this year. Corbin faced Minnesota earlier this season in a win as he allowed three runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts in five innings of work.
