Can the Phillies pick up a statement win?
The Philadelphia Phillies have been consistently one of the best teams in the National League for several years now, and on the back of a solid 35-35 record away from home this season, they now find themselves with a solid six-game lead in the competitive National League East. Offensively, this is one of baseball's best teams as the Phillies rank third in batting average and eighth in runs scored this season, and with a team ERA of 3.83 also putting them in the top-10, this is a team that's as balanced as any in all of baseball.
On the bump for Philadelphia in this one will be struggling right-hander Aaron Nola, who has posted a 6.47 ERA through 12 starts this season, as he has allowed 75 hits through 64.0 innings of work thus far. Last time out for the Phillies was a big win over these Brewers, with three RBI to Harrison Bader, leading seven players to knock in a run as they overcame a tough Taijuan Walker start, as he allowed five runs over 4.0 innings to pick up the massive 10-8 win.

Can the Brewers get another streak going?
Throughout much of the second half, the Milwaukee Brewers have been absolutely red-hot, but with the team going just 6-9 over their last 15 games, they need to once again find their momentum with the postseason approaching. In both batting average and total runs scored, the Brewers sit second in baseball this season, and given their team ERA of 3.65, there's very little reason to panic after their recent struggles.
In this one, Milwaukee will turn to veteran lefty Jose Quintana, with the 36-year-old being solid over 21 appearances this season, posting a 3.69 ERA in that time with the team going 10-5 in his starts through 114.2 innings of work. Last time out for the Brewers was a high-scoring home loss to these Phillies, with Jacob Misiorowski allowing three runs over 4.1 innings as the Brewers fell 10-8 despite posting 10 hits on the night, with five players of their own driving in runs in that time.
Milwaukee -125 (4 units)
Despite the loss on Monday night, the Brewers remain one of baseball's best home teams this season, going 45-25 through 70 games thus far, with the record between these teams now sitting at 5-5 in their last 10 head-to-head matchups.
However, before that loss, the Brewers had won four straight against the Phillies after a sweep earlier this season that saw them outscore Philadelphia 28-11, and with Aaron Nola struggling for much of 2025, expect the home team to bounce back with a win in this one.
Over 8.0 (4 units)
In the last 10 head-to-head encounters between these teams, the over is just 3-7, but this season through four games played, the total average runs scored between the teams sit at 14 after a total of 18 were scored in the series opener.
For the Phillies, the over sits at 4-6 in their last 10 overall games, with 4.9 runs allowed per game throughout that time, and for the Brewers, the over comes in at 7-3 in their past 10, with an average of 4.9 runs scored per game in that stretch.
Keep it simple, take the over.
