Can the Mariners punch their ticket to the ALCS?

The Seattle Mariners started slow in the MLB Playoffs, but now they've found their momentum, and on the back of two straight victories, they have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the American League Championship Series on Wednesday. After two slow outings to start the series, they exploded for eight runs in Game Three, and as a result, if their pitching staff can keep thriving, this is a team that's going to be very tough to beat.

On the mound for Seattle in this one is young right-hander Bryce Miller, making his postseason debut, and on the back of a season in which he posted a 5.68 ERA through 18 appearances, this matchup will be a tall task for the 27-year-old. Last time out for the Mariners was a decisive win in Game Three, with three big flies powering Seattle in this one as Logan Gilbert tossed 6.0 innings of one-run ball to lead them to a big 8-4 victory.

Can the Tigers keep their season alive?

The Detroit Tigers have shown their resilience throughout the 2025 campaign, but after losing Game Three, they'll look to use their 46-35 home record this season to keep things alive to force a massive Game Five in this ALDS matchup. Throughout the 2025 campaign, the Tigers have used their balance to get the job done, and now, in the biggest game of the season for this team, they need their biggest stars to step up in the clutch.

Taking the ball here for Detroit will be veteran righty Casey Mize, who has one solid start already this postseason, going 3.0 innings of one-run ball in the ALWCS, and now, they'll be hoping to see more of what helped him put together a very good season in 2025. Last time out for the Tigers was the tough Game Three loss to these Mariners, with two RBI to Spencer Torkelson not enough to get the job done as Jack Flaherty gave up four runs over 3.1 innings as they fell short in a tough outing 8-4.

Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers pick

Moneyline pick for Mariners vs. Tigers

  • Seattle +100 (4 units)

Given how tight and exciting all three matchups in this series have been, Game Four will be yet another tough one to predict, but given the overall advantage that the Mariners have on the mound, they'll be full of confidence coming into this one.

On top of that, the Tigers have scored a total of just nine runs in this series, and with the Mariners showing they can explode for big runs, they'll use that to put this series away in a decisive Game Four as they head to the ALCS.

Over/under pick for Mariners vs. Tigers

  • Under 8.5 (4 units)

While there were a total of 12 runs scored in a massive Game Three, before that, these two teams had scored a combined 10 runs in the two games before that, and in this one, we should expect more of that grinding, low-scoring baseball.

For the Mariners, the under sits at 5-5 in their last 10 overall games, with three or less runs allowed in seven of those games, and for the Tigers, the under comes in at 4-2 this postseason, with four or fewer runs scored in five of those six matchups.

Keep it simple, take the under.
