The Texas Rangers visit the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET. MLB.TV will provide coverage. Texas enters the matchup at 49-47 overall and 25-25 on the road, while Atlanta is 55-40 overall and 27-18 at home. The matchup predictor gives the Rangers a 40.0% chance to win and the Braves a 60.0% probability. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Be sure to check out our free MLB picks.

Starting Pitchers

MacKenzie Gore is scheduled to start for Texas against Atlanta right-hander Owen Murphy. Gore enters with a 5-8 record, 4.63 ERA, and 1.29 WHIP through 105 innings. He has allowed 94 hits and 12 home runs while recording 115 strikeouts and issuing 41 walks. Murphy has pitched four innings and carries a 0-1 record, 2.25 ERA, and 0.25 WHIP. He has allowed one hit, recorded four strikeouts, and has not issued a walk or surrendered a home run. Gore has the much larger supplied workload, while Murphy has the lower ERA and WHIP through his four innings.

Texas Seeks to Carry Its Recent Offense on the Road

Texas enters Saturday with a 49-47 overall record and an even 25-25 mark away from home. The Rangers have won three of their last five games. Texas recently won 6-5 and 7-3 over Houston while also earning a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The Rangers recently lost 9-3 to Houston and 13-1 to the Angels.

The Rangers are batting .245 with 783 hits, 399 runs, and 109 home runs. Their offense has produced a .320 on-base percentage and a .399 slugging percentage. Texas owns a 4.13 team ERA and a 1.25 WHIP while allowing opponents to bat .241. The pitching staff has issued 276 walks and recorded 817 strikeouts. The Rangers have posted a 17-16 record in day games.

Texas has shown an ability to score during its recent victories, producing at least six runs in each of its last three wins. The Rangers also hold a seven-point advantage over Atlanta in on-base percentage and have recorded 13 more strikeouts. However, their broader weakness is run prevention compared with the Braves. Texas has the higher ERA, WHIP, and opponent batting average, and it allowed at least five runs in four of the five supplied recent games.

Atlanta’s Home Record Strengthens Its Position

Atlanta comes into the matchup at 55-40 overall with a 27-18 record at Truist Park. The Braves have won three of their last five games. Atlanta recently earned a 4-3 victory over St. Louis and recorded 10-5 and 3-0 wins over Pittsburgh. The Braves recently lost 4-1 and 2-1 to St. Louis, with both defeats coming by three runs or fewer.

The Braves are batting .246 with 795 hits, 460 runs, and 121 home runs. Atlanta has posted a .313 on-base percentage and a .409 slugging percentage. Its pitching staff owns a 3.60 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP while holding opponents to a .228 batting average. The Braves have issued 317 walks and collected 804 strikeouts. Atlanta has a 15-13 record in day games.

Atlanta’s most important strength is its statistical advantage in both scoring and run prevention. The Braves have scored 61 more runs and hit 12 more home runs than the Rangers. They also hold the better batting average and slugging percentage. On the pitching side, Atlanta’s ERA is 0.53 lower, and its opponent batting average is 13 points better. The Braves have also won 27 of their 45 home games, giving them another meaningful advantage entering Saturday.

Texas Rangers vs Atlanta Braves Picks and Prediction

Texas Rangers vs Atlanta Braves Pick

  • Pick: Atlanta Braves Moneyline

Atlanta is my selection based on its stronger overall record, productive home mark, and 60.0% matchup-predictor probability. The Braves lead Texas in runs, hits, home runs, batting average, slugging percentage, team ERA, WHIP, and opponent batting average. Texas has won three of its last five and has scored well in those victories, but it has also allowed 36 runs during the supplied five-game stretch. Atlanta’s more balanced season-long statistics make the Braves the preferred side at Truist Park.

Texas Rangers vs Atlanta Braves Total Pick

  • Pick: Over 8.5

Take the over if the total is set at 8.5. I favor the over because four of Texas’ last five games produced at least 10 combined runs. The Rangers scored 24 runs but allowed 36 during that span, creating an average combined total of 12 runs per game. Atlanta has scored 460 runs with 121 home runs and a .409 slugging percentage. The scheduled Texas starter also carries a 4.63 ERA, while Atlanta’s scheduled starter has only four supplied innings. Based on Texas’ recent results and Atlanta’s season-long scoring production, I prefer the over at 8.5.

Final Score Prediction: Atlanta Braves 6 – Texas Rangers 4

This prediction was written before the completion of game play on Friday.
