Atlanta Hawks vs Indiana Pacers Picks and Prediction for Monday November 2 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 11/02/2026, 12:05 AM ET

Indiana has a problem. Actually, it’s got several.

The Pacers are missing their starting point guard, their backup point guard and some important frontcourt help. And now they’ve got to play Atlanta on Monday after facing Brooklyn on Sunday.

I don’t care how much you like playing at home. That’s a tough setup.

Atlanta hasn’t been lighting the world on fire either. The Hawks just lost by 22 in New Orleans. But they’ve got more healthy players, and I think that makes the difference.

The Hawks visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Monday, November 2, with tipoff at 7:30 PM ET. Indiana is playing the second night of a back-to-back, while Atlanta had Sunday off. I couldn’t verify a current sportsbook line, so I’m taking Atlanta on the moneyline and using a target number for the total. Get ready for all the NBA action with our free NBA picks.

Atlanta Hawks Need to Bounce Back

Atlanta is 3-4, including 2-2 on the road. The Hawks beat Cleveland 114-111 Thursday, then went to New Orleans Saturday and lost 121-99. That’s a pretty big swing in two games. Atlanta has been capable of scoring plenty, but the defense hasn’t been consistent enough to keep the Hawks from getting into trouble.

The Hawks are averaging around 119 points and allowing about 115. They’re moving the ball well, averaging more than 32 assists, and that’s the part I like against Indiana. The Pacers have been giving up almost 120 points a game. Atlanta doesn’t need to reinvent anything offensively. Move the ball, get good looks and make Indiana defend for the entire possession. That’s been difficult for the Pacers lately.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is averaging 20.5 points, while Jalen Johnson has been putting up about 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Johnson’s ability to create offense from the forward spot is especially valuable against a short-handed team. His ankle status needs checking, though, because he’s been listed as questionable. Jock Landale has also been dealing with a hip problem. Mouhamed Gueye is out with a foot injury, and Henri Veesaar is unavailable with a knee injury. Atlanta isn’t completely healthy, but it’s in better shape than Indiana.

Indiana Pacers Are Asking Too Much of Their Remaining Players

Indiana enters Sunday’s Brooklyn game at 2-4, with an 0-2 home record. The Pacers have lost three straight, including a 145-125 defeat in Miami on Friday. Giving up 145 points isn’t exactly the kind of preparation you want before facing an Atlanta team that likes to move the basketball.

The Pacers have averaged 116.7 points and allowed 119.8 through six games. Offensively, they’re still capable of putting up numbers. They scored 125 in Miami and hit 17 three-pointers. But the defense has been getting pushed around, and the injury situation makes it harder to fix. Indiana has been giving up too many clean looks, and the Hawks have enough shooters to take advantage.

Pascal Siakam is averaging 22.2 points and nearly eight rebounds, so Indiana still has a dependable scorer. Andrew Nembhard scored 22 points and handed out nine assists against Miami, and Quenton Jackson added 24. Those are useful performances. But Tyrese Haliburton is out with a hamstring injury, T.J. McConnell is sidelined, and Ivica Zubac has an ankle problem. Ben Sheppard and Johnny Furphy are unavailable, while Obi Toppin and Aaron Nesmith have also been dealing with injuries. That’s a lot to overcome, especially on consecutive nights.

Atlanta Hawks vs Indiana Pacers Picks and Prediction

Atlanta Hawks Moneyline

I’m taking Atlanta. The Hawks haven’t been consistent, and Indiana could get hot from three and make this interesting. That’s the danger. But the Pacers are missing too many players, and they’re going to be playing their second game in two nights. Atlanta has been moving the ball well and should get plenty of good looks against a defense allowing nearly 120 points. If Johnson plays, I like this pick even more. I think the Hawks have enough offense to pull away late.

Over 229.5 Points — Target Total

I’d look Over 229.5 if that’s the number available. Atlanta averages around 119 points, Indiana nearly 117, and neither defense has been especially dependable. The Pacers just allowed 145 to Miami, and Atlanta gave up 121 in New Orleans. That’s not exactly a pair of defensive powerhouses. The concern is Indiana running out of energy in the second half or missing enough players that the offense struggles. But I think both teams can reach 110, with Atlanta getting into the 120s. Something like Hawks 122-112 works for me.

Final Picks: Atlanta Hawks Moneyline and Over 229.5 Points (target total)
