Boston Celtics vs Orlando Magic Picks and Predictions for Sunday, November 1, 2026

By: David Anicetti Published 11/01/2026, 12:10 AM ET

The Celtics have put their opening loss at Detroit behind them, winning four in a row since then. Friday was a 125-111 victory over Chicago, leaving Boston second in the Atlantic Division at 4-1. Orlando also won Friday, beating Toronto 121-114 just two days after losing to the Raptors by 30. The Magic are 2-3 and fourth in the Southeast Division, with both home games ending in defeat. Boston visits Kia Center on Sunday for a 3:30 pm ET tipoff on NBA League Pass. The Magic will be without several regulars, including Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs. Boston Celtics Getting Contributions Across the Lineup

Boston has already played Chicago twice, and the Bulls probably won't be sorry to see the Celtics leave town. Monday's meeting ended 134-99, while Friday's rematch finished 125-111. Brooklyn gave Boston a much tougher night Tuesday, taking the Celtics into overtime before losing by a single point, 125-124. The Knicks also kept things close in a 107-103 defeat. Boston hasn't needed every game to go smoothly to keep winning, which is encouraging after its 121-113 opening loss in Detroit.

Jayson Tatum is averaging 27.6 points and has been just as busy setting up teammates, with 7.8 assists per game. Paul George has provided 21.4 points, including some valuable outside shooting. Payton Pritchard has also been productive off the bench, averaging 16.6 points while making 43.3% of his three-point attempts. Boston's guards and forwards have been sharing the scoring load, which takes some of the pressure off Tatum. Orlando will have plenty of decisions to make defensively, particularly when George and Pritchard are finding open shots.

Injuries: Devin Carter is out.

Orlando Magic Trying to Win at Kia Center

Orlando got some revenge in Toronto on Friday. Just two nights after the Raptors handed the Magic a 129-99 defeat, Orlando returned and won 121-114. It was a welcome response for a club that has struggled to put together consistent performances. The Magic also beat New York 111-102 last Sunday, but their two home games have ended in losses. Minnesota won 115-93 at Kia Center, while Atlanta escaped with a 132-125 victory. Orlando has shown it can compete offensively, although stopping opponents has been another matter.

Franz Wagner has taken on more responsibility with Paolo Banchero unavailable. Wagner is averaging 20.8 points and seven assists, giving Orlando someone who can both score and create chances. Desmond Bane has added 17.2 points, while Wendell Carter Jr. is contributing 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds. The Magic are averaging 107 points and allowing 118.4, a difficult combination against Boston's offense. Carter will have an important job around the basket, especially when the Celtics attack inside rather than settling for outside shots.

Injuries: Jonathan Isaac, Jalen Suggs, Paolo Banchero, Noah Penda and Izaiyah Nelson are out.

Key To The Game

Orlando needs Wagner to create opportunities without carrying the entire offense. Banchero and Suggs are both unavailable, leaving the Magic short of two important contributors. Boston can attack through Tatum, George or Pritchard, making it difficult for Orlando to concentrate on one player. The Celtics also move the ball well, averaging 27.8 assists. Orlando will need Bane to make outside shots and Carter to secure rebounds. Giving Boston extra possessions could turn an already difficult matchup into a long afternoon for the home team.

Boston Celtics vs Orlando Magic Game Pick

  • Boston Celtics

Boston has won four consecutive games, and its offense looks much more settled than Orlando's. Tatum is scoring and creating chances, while George and Pritchard give the Celtics plenty of help. Orlando deserves credit for responding to Wednesday's heavy defeat with a victory Friday, but the Magic remain short-handed. Wagner and Bane can keep Orlando involved, although Boston has more ways to score when the game gets tight. The Celtics have also handled close finishes against Brooklyn and New York. I'm taking Boston to extend its winning streak.

Boston Celtics vs Orlando Magic Over/Under Pick

  • Over

Boston has reached 125 points in three of its last four games, while Orlando just scored 121 against Toronto. The Magic have also allowed at least 114 points in four of their five contests. Boston's shooting and passing should create plenty of opportunities, particularly against an Orlando defense missing several important players. Wagner and Bane can contribute enough scoring to help the total climb, even if the Magic struggle to keep pace. Friday's results showed both teams can produce points. I expect another active afternoon offensively. Over is my pick.
