Brooklyn Nets at Indiana Pacers Picks and Prediction for Wednesday, November 5, 2025
The Brooklyn Nets travel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to play the Indiana Pacers at 7:00 PM ET. Still in pursuit of their first win, the Nets come in at 0-7, and the Pacers aren't much better at 1-6 after a close home defeat at the hands of Milwaukee. Clean angles only: NBA predictions for the Brooklyn Nets at the Indiana Pacers.
Nets Still Seeking First Win of the Season
The Brooklyn Nets just can't get over the hump. They lost again, this time to Minnesota 125-109. The game was close for a while, but the Nets fell apart in the fourth, giving up 34 points in the final quarter. Cam Thomas tried to keep them in it with 25 points, and Nic Claxton chipped in 19, but it wasn't enough. Brooklyn shot just 44% compared to Minnesota's 56% and got hammered on the boards, 53-40.
Offensively, the Nets put up almost 112 points a night, but the defense is a mess, giving up nearly 126. They shoot 44.6% as a team (19th) and 32.4% from long range (24th), but they can’t stop anyone inside and get beaten up on the glass. They allow their opponents to shoot 52.8% from the field to rank 30th in the NBA and 42.9% from three-point range (30th). You don't have to be an NBA savant to realize that the Nets are struggling defensively.
Cam Thomas is doing what he can: he averages 24.4 points and shoots close to 41%. The problem? The bench doesn't give him much help, and Claxton, while solid inside, is getting worn down by bigger frontcourts. On defense, Brooklyn forces around seven steals per game but barely blocks two shots. There's just not enough rim protection, which is why opponents shoot so well against them. Until they figure things out defensively, they're going to keep losing games after halftime.
Haywood Highsmith (knee) won’t return until mid-December.

Pacers Hoping To Build On Strong Effort
Indiana nearly pulled off the big win against Milwaukee but lost 117-115 as Giannis drilled a buzzer-beater. Pascal Siakam was huge, adding 32 points with eight assists, and Isaiah Jackson chipped in a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards. The Pacers shot 44% and held their own on the glass, but it just wasn’t enough.
The Pacers score about 113 a game but give up nearly 119. Shooting is an issue, just 40.7% as a team, and that's killed them in close games. Even so, they've been in almost every contest, with five of their six losses coming by single digits. Siakam leads the way, averaging 26 points on 44.5% shooting. He's also become a bigger playmaker, sitting second on the team in assists.
On defense, the Pacers block four shots and make six steals per game. On defense, the Pacers are allowing 46.9% shooting to rank 14th and lead the league in three-point defense (32.5%).
For injuries, Furphy, Quenton Jackson, and Bennedict Mathurin are all out. Nembhard is out until November 8, and Obi Toppin won’t be back until February.
Brooklyn Nets at Indiana Pacers Pick
Spread Pick for Nets vs. Pacers
- Indiana Pacers -2 (4 Units)
Indiana gets the nod here. They rebound better, have the home crowd, and Brooklyn hasn't shown it can defend or finish games. The Nets have lost every game by an average of 14 points, and their road record is ugly at 0-3. Siakam and Jackson should control the glass and limit Brooklyn's second-chance points. The Pacers have a more balanced attack and nearly took down Milwaukee. If Siakam keeps rolling and the rest of the team steps up, covering a two-point spread looks very doable.
Over/Under Pick for Nets vs. Pacers
- Over 223.5 (5 Units)
This one has "high-scoring" written all over it. Both teams allow over 118 points per game and play fast. Brooklyn's defense is soft, and Indiana's perimeter D isn't much better. The Nets average nearly 112, the Pacers almost 113, and both have a habit of playing in shootouts. Brooklyn's last five have all cleared 220 points, and Indiana's last two at home hit 226 and 232. Neither defense can slow things down for long, so expect another game where the scoreboard lights up.
