Nets have lost four straight
This is a slight break for Brooklyn, who has lost four straight after beating another one-win team, Indiana 112-103 on Nov. 5. When you look at their schedule (similar to Washington), they are ranked fourth in the league in strength of schedule on DunksandThrees.com. On Friday, the Nets were losers once again, this time to Orlando, 105-9,8, but covered the 14.5 points on the road. Michael Porter Jr. led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists (career high).
The Nets, like the Wizards, have limited veteran talent, but they do have a lot of young players. Porter Jr. leads the team with 23.3 points and 7.7 rebounds, while shooting 46% from the field and 34.7% from long range. Cam Thomas adds 21.4 points but has been dealing with a hamstring injury. He'll miss 3-4 weeks at least before being evaluated again. One of the many rookies trying to fill in is 6-7 point guard Egor Demi, who averages 7.2 points and 3.2 assists, but is shooting just 37.1% from the field and 35.6% from long range. The Nets are brutal defensively, allowing 123.3 points per game (26th) and 51.4% from beyond the arc.
Key Injuries for the Nets
- G Cam Thomas (hamstring) is out
- G/F Highwood Highmith (knee) is out indefinitely.
Wiz lose 10 straight after Dallas win
Washington shocked Dallas 117-107 (with Anthony Davis) on Oct. 24 and then proceeded to lose 10 straight since that win. Some games have been competitive, but most have been blowouts as the Wiz have covered just one game in that losing streak. The good news is that they haven't played since Nov. 12 (135-112 loss to Houston), so they had some time to practice, which is rare in a long NBA season. That game for Washington was never competitive and showed little defense, allowing 81 points in the first half. Alex Sarr led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds on 10-of-15 shooting.

Sarr, in his second season, has been a rare bright spot for a very young team. Sarr has scored at least 15 points in six straight games and has posted double figures in every game this season. He's averaging 19.1 points and 8.6 rebounds with 2.3 blocks per game, while shooting 53.1% from the field and 35.1% from long range. Second-year wing Kyshawn George has also elevated his game this season with 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Defense has been missing for this squad that allows 47.8% shooting and 37.2% from long range (25th). They are also one of the league's worst rebounding teams. They are 28th in rebounding rate and well, the Nets are 30th.
Key Injuries for Wizards
- F Bilal Coulibaly (leg) is day-to-day.

Spread Pick for Nets vs. Wizards
Nets vs. Wizards Pick and Prediction
- Nets +2.5 (4 units)
You can't ask for a more competitive Sunday afternoon between two bad teams with some young talent. The Wizards have more young talent than the Nets, but the loss of Coulibaly hurts them defensively. Brooklyn has played a brutal schedule save for the Pacers, but they were close in that Orlando game. They are also more methodical and that leads to fewer turnovers. They are a solid 17th in turnovers per possession, while Washington is 27th. Turnovers will prove costly in this one for Washington.
Over/Under Pick for Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards
- Over 234 (4 units)
Washington wants to push the ball as they are 2nd in the NBA in pace and the Nets are 28th. Expect Washington to dictate the pace at home, but that can be a problem for them since the Nets will exploit the Wizards' awful defense. Washington has gone over in two straight and four of their last five games. In this series, these teams have gone over in three of the last four gmes.
