C's playing better lately without Tatum
Boston fans won't be happy with a 10-9 record, but without Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) out for the year, this was going to be a difficult season. On Saturday, they came in against Minnesota playing their best basketball of the season, winning five of their last six games. They fell to the T-Wolves by four points on the road, covering the six points. Brown led the Celtics with 41 points, five steals and seven assists on 17-of-32 shooting. Center Neemias Queta added 19 points and 18 rebounds. Boston couldn't slow down Anthony Edwards (39 points), who made 5 of 11 from three-point range and 10 of 11 from the line. The T-Wolves also shot 44% (21 of 48) from long range.
Brown has been outstanding, averaging 28.8 points and 5.8 rebounds, while shooting 49.8% from the field (35.1% 3pt). Payton Pritchard adds 16.2 points and 4.9 assists. Pritchard is a good role player, but when he's your second-leading scorer, you have issues. Derrick White (16ppg, 5.1apg) is also having a rough start, shooting just 36.3% from the field and 31.7% from long range.
Defensively, the Celts are elite, allowing just 110.7 points per game (3rd) and 44.2% from the field (3rd). They are shooting 46% from the field, which ranks 21st in the league. Boston has no recent key injuries.

Cavs are underachieving a bit
You can't expect Cleveland to repeat what they did last season, which was win 64 games. They've had some injuries, which has slowed them down and on Sunday, they will be playing without center Jarrett Allen and backup forward Larry Nance Jr. The Cavs have struggled on the road, going 4-5, while possessing an 8-3 record at home. In their last two games, they fell at Toronto 110-99 on Nov. 24 and at Atlanta by seven on Friday. In that game, Donovan Mitchell paced the Cavs with 42 points and Evan Mobley added 20 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. But Cleveland committed 17 turnovers and allowed the Hawks to shoot 53% from the field. Allen and Nance both played in that game as did Lonzo Ball, who has been dealing with a knee issue this season and in the last 2-3 years.
Mitchell leads the team with 30.6 points per game, while shooting 50.5% from the field and dishing out 5.3 assists per game. He's played 18 of the team's 20 games, while Darius Garland (13.7ppg) has played in just six games due to a toe injury. Cleveland ranks 6th on DunksandThrees.com in Adjusted Net Rating, eighth in Adjusted Offensive ratings, and seventh in Adjusted Defensive ratings
