Charlotte vs Los Angeles Lakers Game Preview and Analysis

The Lakers have won five of the last six meetings with the Hornets, including a 121-111 win in Charlotte earlier this season. Even so, this spot sets up better for the road team than the history suggests.

Charlotte has not played since Monday and has already been in Los Angeles after facing the Clippers, which gives the Hornets a clear rest and travel edge. They split their first two games on this West Coast trip, beating Utah by 55 points before falling to the Clippers in a game that was tight for three quarters.

The Lakers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 141-116 win over Atlanta on Tuesday, but that result came with some noise around the team. There are off-court distractions tied to trade rumors, and Los Angeles has not played well as a favorite lately. Over the last 15 games, the Lakers sit near the bottom third of the league in net rating.

Charlotte, on the other hand, has quietly been one of the more competitive teams in the league during that same stretch. They were neck-and-neck with the Clippers for most of Monday night, trailing by just two points at halftime and again heading into the fourth quarter before Los Angeles pulled away late at the free throw line.

From a totals perspective, both teams have leaned under recently, and the number here is inflated north of 230. With Charlotte likely looking to control pace and Los Angeles not pushing tempo consistently, the under makes sense.

Key Injuries and Notes CHA and LAL

  • Moussa Diabate is questionable for Charlotte.
  • Collin Sexton is also listed as questionable for the Hornets.
  • No major injuries have been confirmed for the Lakers at this time.

Final Score Prediction

Lakers 114, Hornets 112
