Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks Picks and Predictions for Saturday, October 31, 2026
A three-point loss in Atlanta on Thursday left Cleveland with a frustrating end to an otherwise successful stretch of games. The Cavaliers are 3-2, second in the Central Division, and have won three of their last four. Milwaukee is having a tougher time. The Bucks are fifth in the Central at 1-4 after Houston beat them 132-100 on Wednesday. Cleveland hasn't won away from home yet, and Milwaukee has managed just one victory anywhere. Saturday's meeting at Fiserv Forum starts at 8:00 pm ET on NBA League Pass. Be a winner using our free NBA picks for Saturday's other games.
Cleveland Cavaliers Have Been Difficult to Put Away
Cleveland's last four games have kept fans on the edge of their seats right to the finish. Brooklyn nearly spoiled the Cavaliers' home opener before losing 125-121, and Minnesota pushed them even harder Monday. That contest went into overtime, with Cleveland eventually escaping 127-125. The Cavaliers had a more comfortable night against Washington, winning 121-111, but Atlanta brought the winning streak to an end Thursday. Cleveland lost 114-111, giving the club its second road defeat. Both losses have come by single digits, so the Cavaliers haven't been far from winning those games either.
Donovan Mitchell is still the player Cleveland turns to when the offense needs a basket. He's averaging 24.8 points, but the Cavaliers also have Evan Mobley to work inside and James Harden to handle the passing. Mobley is collecting 10 rebounds per game, and Harden is providing 6.8 assists. Cleveland has scored at least 111 points in four consecutive games. That production should give the Bucks problems, especially if Mitchell can get into the paint rather than settling for difficult shots from outside.
Injuries: Meleek Thomas is questionable.
Milwaukee Bucks Have Plenty to Address Defensively
The Bucks were right in Wednesday's game against Houston until the second quarter. Milwaukee trailed 23-21 after the first 12 minutes, then watched the Rockets score eight unanswered points to begin the next period. By halftime, the score was 57-35, and Milwaukee was already facing a difficult comeback. The Bucks eventually lost 132-100, just two days after beating Indiana 110-102 for their first victory. Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington had also beaten Milwaukee earlier in the season. The Bucks have now given up at least 127 points in four of their five games.
Tyler Herro scored 23 against Houston, but Milwaukee couldn't get enough going around him to keep up. Herro has been averaging 23.4 points and 4.6 assists, taking much of the responsibility for the offense. Kel'el Ware is collecting 8.4 rebounds, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. has provided some additional scoring. The Bucks have managed 113.4 points per game themselves, so the attack hasn't been completely ineffective. The difficulty comes at the other end, where Milwaukee is allowing 124.2. Cleveland's ability to score inside and outside will put that defense under pressure again.
Injuries: Milwaukee has no reported injuries.
Key To The Game
Cleveland has several ways to trouble Milwaukee, particularly with Mitchell attacking from the perimeter and Mobley working inside. Houston found plenty of room to operate Wednesday, and the Bucks cannot afford another second-quarter breakdown. Herro will need help creating good shots against Cleveland's defense. The Cavaliers have allowed opponents to stay close in several games themselves, so Milwaukee should get opportunities. Rebounding could also be important. Both teams have strong frontcourt players, and controlling missed shots would help prevent another high-scoring afternoon.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks Game Pick
- Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland has been much closer to winning its two defeats than Milwaukee has in several losses. Mitchell and Mobley give the Cavaliers reliable scoring options, while Harden can help organize the attack. The Bucks should be competitive at home, especially if Herro gets off to a good start. Still, Milwaukee's defensive problems are difficult to ignore after allowing 132 against Houston. Cleveland also has something to prove following Thursday's defeat in Atlanta. I expect the Cavaliers to take advantage of Milwaukee's defensive weaknesses and collect their first road victory.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks Over/Under Pick
- Over
Neither team has consistently prevented opponents from scoring. Milwaukee has surrendered at least 127 points in four defeats, while Cleveland's recent games against Minnesota, Brooklyn and Washington all featured plenty of offense. Mitchell and Herro can both produce big scoring nights, and Cleveland has Mobley to cause problems inside. Milwaukee also has enough shooting to contribute if the Bucks avoid another prolonged scoring drought. The Cavaliers have been involved in several close, high-scoring contests already. I expect another busy night for both offenses, making over my pick.
