Cavaliers

Cleveland has owned this matchup, winning seven straight against Milwaukee. The Cavs are coming off a strong 109-94 win over the Knicks. Jarrett Allen, James Harden and Donovan Mitchell combined for 62 points in that game.

The defense stood out. Cleveland held New York to just 40 points in the second half and limited them to 40.7 percent shooting. That type of defensive effort keeps games under the number.

Still, the Cavs have not been blowing teams out consistently. They beat the Kings by six, the Nuggets by two and the Hornets by five. Outside of wins over the Wizards and Nets, most games have been competitive.

Bucks

Milwaukee continues to exceed expectations. The Bucks are 7-2 straight-up and against the spread over the last nine games. Last night, they beat Miami by 11 as a 6.5-point underdog.

Kevin Porter Jr. led the charge with 32 points and seven assists, including a big fourth quarter to erase a nine-point deficit.

Over the last ten games, Milwaukee ranks No. 7 in offensive rating, No. 5 in effective field goal percentage and No. 8 in true shooting percentage. That efficiency makes them dangerous as an underdog.

Both teams are on the second leg of a back-to-back. Giannis Antetokounmpo remains out long term for Milwaukee, while Max Strus is out for Cleveland.

Cavaliers vs Bucks Game Preview and Analysis

The market opened Cleveland around -9.5 and has settled near -8.5. Public betting is leaning heavily toward the Cavs.

From a numbers standpoint, this line is close to fair. I am not seeing strong value on the favorite. Milwaukee has been too sharp offensively to ignore. With both teams on tired legs, I expect a tighter game.

The recent head-to-head trend also supports the under. The last three meetings have stayed under the total. Cleveland’s defense and Milwaukee’s slower pace in big games should keep this score manageable.

I will continue riding the Bucks as underdogs. They are playing with confidence and efficiency, and Cleveland has not consistently covered big numbers against quality teams.

Key Injuries and Notes - CLE and MIL

  • CLE: Max Strus remains out long term.
  • MIL: Giannis Antetokounmpo remains out long term.
  • Both teams are on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • Milwaukee is 7-2 straight-up and against the spread over the last nine games.

Final Score Prediction

I expect a competitive game with Cleveland pulling away late but not covering a large number.

  • Projected Final Score: Cleveland 112, Milwaukee 106

ATS and Total Picks

  • ATS Pick: Milwaukee +8.5
  • Total Pick: Under 228.5
