Cavaliers vs Timberwolves Game Preview and Analysis

These teams will see each other again on Saturday in Cleveland, which makes this first meeting especially important from a betting standpoint. Minnesota enters in excellent form, having won and covered three straight games, capped by a dominant 28-point home win over Miami.

The Timberwolves’ defense has been the backbone of this run, and Rudy Gobert has elevated his play on that end of the floor. Over his last eight games, Gobert is averaging 2.5 blocks per contest and just posted a 16-rebound effort against the Heat. Minnesota’s ability to control the paint has been a major separator.

Cleveland has also played better recently, winning four of its last five games, but road issues continue to follow the Cavaliers. Away from home, Cleveland has struggled to cover numbers, and this is a tough spot against one of the league’s hottest defensive teams.

While Cleveland had success against Minnesota last season, this Timberwolves group looks sharper, healthier, and far more consistent. Laying a small number at home with a team trending this well is a position I am comfortable taking.

CLE and MIN Key Injuries and Notes

  • Timberwolves 122
  • Cavaliers 118
