The good news for Phoenix is the injury report is improving. Devin Booker and Jalen Green both returned against the 76ers after missing several games. They were rusty, combining to go 1-for-10 from three-point range, but the important part is they are back on the floor.
Dallas is trending the other way. The Mavericks are trying to snap a seven-game losing streak, and they were swept in a two-game series against the Spurs over the weekend.
Phoenix is also on the front end of a back-to-back. The Suns host Oklahoma City on Wednesday, so this is not a spot where I expect Phoenix to empty the tank for 48 minutes. But I do think it is a spot where the Suns can score.
The biggest reason I like the over is Dallas’ pace and defense. Over the last 15 games, the Mavericks have played at the third-fastest pace in the league. That is great for totals, but it becomes a problem when you cannot stop anyone.
Dallas has allowed at least 110 points in 11 of its last 12 games. That includes giving up 135 and 138 points to San Antonio in two games over the weekend. That is not a defensive profile I want to back, especially against a Phoenix offense that is getting healthier.
