Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors Picks and Prediction for Thursday November 5 2026

Miami heads to San Francisco on Thursday night for a 10 PM ET game against the Warriors at Chase Center. NBA TV has the broadcast, and this matchup looks like it could get interesting for a couple of reasons. Miami has been scoring plenty but hasn’t been stopping anybody, while Golden State has been finding ways to win close games. The Warriors are favored by seven points in one available projection, with a total of 233.5. Those are model numbers rather than confirmed sportsbook lines, but they give us a reasonable starting point for the matchup. The NBA season is starting to pick up in action and you should make sure you are in on the action with our free NBA picks.

Miami Heat Have Been Scoring but Not Winning

Miami is 2-5 after losing 138-117 to the Lakers on Monday. The Heat also lost 125-111 to Indiana on Saturday, so they’ve given up 263 points over their last two games. That’s a lot of points, and it doesn’t matter how good your offense looks when the other team keeps scoring more.

Miami is averaging 118.1 points per game while allowing 123.9. That’s the problem right there. The Heat can score enough to compete with good teams, but the defense hasn’t been doing its share. Against Golden State, that could become a serious issue. The Warriors have enough offensive ability to punish teams that give up open looks and easy transition baskets.

What gives Miami a chance is that the Heat aren’t struggling to put points on the board. They scored 117 against Los Angeles, and they’ve shown they can get into the 120s when the shots are falling. If Golden State gets careless defensively, Miami can make this a game. But the Heat need to find a way to get some stops. Otherwise, they’re going to spend another night chasing an opponent that’s scoring almost every trip down the floor.

Golden State Warriors Have Been Finishing Games

Golden State beat Phoenix 116-113 on Monday, and that was another close game the Warriors managed to win. They also beat the Lakers 124-103 on Friday. That’s two pretty different victories, and I like seeing that from a team. Golden State can win a game where the offense is rolling, but it can also find a way to survive when things get tight late.

The Warriors should have opportunities to score against Miami. The Heat have been allowing nearly 124 points per game, and Golden State has the kind of ball movement that can make a struggling defense look even worse. If Miami starts losing track of shooters or giving up easy baskets in transition, the Warriors could put together a big offensive night.

The one thing that makes me a little hesitant about laying seven points is Miami’s offense. The Heat can score enough to hang around, and Golden State just beat Phoenix by three. That’s a reminder that the Warriors aren’t automatically blowing everybody out. But Miami’s defensive problems are difficult to ignore, especially on the road.

Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors Picks and Prediction

Spread Pick: Golden State Warriors -7

I’ll lay the seven with Golden State if that’s where the sportsbook line lands. Miami can score, and that’s what makes this a little uncomfortable. But the Heat have given up 263 points in their last two games, and now they’re facing a Warriors team that’s been finding ways to win. Golden State should have plenty of good scoring opportunities, and I don’t trust Miami to get enough stops to keep this close for four quarters. The Heat might hang around early, but I think the Warriors eventually pull away. Give me Golden State by eight or more.

Total Pick: Over 233.5 Points

I’m taking the over 233.5 if that number is available. Miami is averaging 118.1 points per game and allowing 123.9, which adds up to 242 points. That’s not a prediction that every Heat game will finish that high, but it tells you what kind of games they’ve been playing. Golden State has enough offense to take advantage of Miami’s defensive problems, and the Heat should contribute plenty themselves. The concern is Golden State building a big lead and slowing things down late. But I think both teams can get into the 110s, with one reaching the 120s. That should give us a good chance to get over.

Final Picks: Golden State Warriors -7 (if available) | Over 233.5 Points (if available)
