Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics Picks and Prediction for Wednesday November 4 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 11/04/2026, 12:20 AM ET

Milwaukee heads to Boston on Wednesday night for a 7:30 PM ET game against the Celtics at TD Garden. The Bucks are 1-6, and things haven’t been going particularly well. Boston is 5-2, although the Celtics are coming off a loss to Houston on Monday. These teams are heading in opposite directions, and Milwaukee needs to figure something out before this early-season slide gets any worse. At the time of this writing, the betting odds were not released. Check out our free NBA picks for more predictions.

Milwaukee Bucks Need to Stop the Bleeding

Milwaukee lost 112-100 to Minnesota on Monday, and that followed a 136-111 beating from Cleveland on Saturday. That’s two more losses for a team that’s managed only one win through seven games. You can call it an early-season slump if you want, but at some point, you’ve got to start winning basketball games.

The defense is what really bothers me. Giving up 136 points to Cleveland is bad enough, but Milwaukee hasn’t been doing much to make up for those problems offensively. The Bucks scored 111 against Cleveland and still lost by 25. Then they managed only 100 against Minnesota. That’s not a good combination.

And now they have to go into Boston. Great timing, right? The Celtics are coming off a loss themselves, so I wouldn’t expect them to be particularly forgiving. Milwaukee needs to find a way to get stops and avoid letting Boston get comfortable from the perimeter. If the Bucks fall behind early, I don’t particularly trust them to fight their way back.

Boston Celtics Have a Good Chance to Bounce Back

Boston is 5-2 after losing 109-93 to Houston on Monday. That wasn’t a great offensive performance, especially after the Celtics had beaten Orlando 108-97 on Sunday. Boston has scored 108 or fewer in two of its last three games, and I’d imagine the Celtics would like to get that offense moving a little better.

Here’s the difference between Boston and Milwaukee right now. The Celtics have been winning games even when they aren’t scoring a ton of points. They’ve shown they can defend, and that gives them a little more room for error. Milwaukee hasn’t had that luxury because the Bucks have been allowing too many easy baskets.

The Celtics don’t need to do anything complicated Wednesday. Get back to playing solid defense, move the ball, and make Milwaukee prove it can keep up. Boston has the home floor and the better record, and I expect the Celtics to be motivated after that Houston loss. They aren’t unbeatable, but this is a matchup they should feel good about.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics Picks and Prediction

Moneyline Pick: Boston Celtics

I’m taking Boston, and I don’t see much reason to overthink it. Milwaukee is 1-6, has lost its last two games by 12 and 25 points, and now has to face a Celtics team coming off a loss. That’s not a situation I want to back the Bucks in. Boston hasn’t been perfect, but the Celtics have been considerably better defensively, and that should make a difference. Milwaukee might have enough offense to keep it interesting for a while, but I don’t trust the Bucks to get the stops they’ll need late. Give me Boston to win at home.

Total Pick: Under — Pending Posted Line

I’m leaning under, and this has more to do with Boston than Milwaukee. The Bucks have been giving up plenty of points, but the Celtics have scored only 93 and 108 in their last two games. Boston has also held its last two opponents to 109 and 97. I think the Celtics will try to win this one by tightening things up defensively rather than getting into a wild scoring contest. Milwaukee’s defensive problems could certainly push the total higher, and that’s the risk. But if Boston controls the game the way I expect, the under could be worth a look once the number is available.

Final Picks: Boston Celtics Moneyline | Under (conditional lean)
