Timberwolves

Minnesota has been hard to trust. The Timberwolves are a Jekyll and Hyde team this season. They just finished a six-game homestand and were crushed at home by the Sixers to close the weekend.

This will be their first road game since February 4. That matters. Laying points with a team that has not played on the road in three weeks is never ideal.

Naz Reid is questionable with a shoulder injury, which adds uncertainty.

Trail Blazers

The Blazers just earned a 15-point road win in Phoenix. That 92-77 result snapped an eight-game over streak in Portland games.

Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija are both ruled out. That hurts depth and scoring, but the market already knows that.

Portland has been competitive at home and should not be overlooked here.

Timberwolves vs Trail Blazers

Minnesota has won both meetings this season, including a 24-point win on February 11. That type of result can inflate the next spread.

The problem is recent form. The Timberwolves are 2-6 against the spread over their last eight games. They are also 5-9 against the spread in their last 14 games as a road favorite.

That is not the profile I want when laying nearly a touchdown on the road.

Minnesota vs Portland Game Preview and Analysis

Seven of the last nine meetings have gone over the total. That trend stands out with this number climbing from the low 230s up to 236.5.

The spread has moved from -5 to -6.5, with heavy public action on Minnesota. When I see 100 percent of the public backing one side, I get cautious.

Portland’s recent under against Phoenix came in a game where the Suns were short-handed. This matchup should play faster. Minnesota can score, and Portland has shown the ability to push tempo at home.

I expect Minnesota to win, but the number feels too high given their recent road profile and inconsistency.

Key Injuries and Notes - MIN and POR

  • Minnesota: Naz Reid is questionable with a shoulder injury.
  • Portland: Shaedon Sharpe is ruled out.
  • Portland: Deni Avdija is ruled out.
  • Both teams are on equal rest after playing Sunday.

Final Score Prediction

Minnesota 122, Portland 118
