NBA Picks for October 30, 2026
NBA Picks and Predictions for Friday, October 30, 2026
Friday brings ten NBA games, and the betting board has a little bit of everything. Boston is laying more than fifteen points against Chicago, Houston is trying to keep its perfect start going in Dallas, and the Lakers and Warriors meet again after Los Angeles won their first matchup.
We've also got Orlando returning to Toronto just two days after getting blown out by the Raptors. Those quick rematches can be tricky. A team that loses by thirty doesn't necessarily lose the next meeting by thirty, especially when both coaching staffs have just seen exactly what worked and what didn't.
Here are my picks for every game, followed by the NBA Best Bet of the Day. For more basketball predictions, check out our free NBA picks.
Today's NBA Picks
Charlotte Hornets vs. Washington Wizards Best Bet
Charlotte comes into this game having already beaten Washington 110-103 on Monday. The Hornets also held Detroit to 97 points Wednesday, although they managed only 89 themselves in that loss. That tells you something about where Charlotte stands. The defense has been reasonably competitive, but the offense can disappear for long stretches.
Washington hasn't been particularly dependable defensively. The Wizards lost 121-111 at Cleveland on Wednesday and have struggled to prevent opponents from generating good looks. They get home court in this rematch, but I don't see much reason to make them a substantial favorite.
Best Bet: Charlotte Hornets +1.5 (-110)
I'll take Charlotte with the points. The Hornets have already beaten Washington once this week, and their defense has been more dependable than the Wizards'. Charlotte's offensive inconsistency is the concern, especially away from home, but getting 1.5 points in a matchup that looks close makes the visitors worth backing.
NBA Pick: Charlotte +1.5 (-110)
Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics Best Bet
Boston absolutely embarrassed Chicago on Monday, winning 134-99. The Celtics followed that with a narrow 125-124 victory over Brooklyn on Tuesday. Boston has been scoring well, although that Brooklyn game showed the defense isn't always as sharp as the final result against Chicago might suggest.
The Bulls have been giving up far too many points. They allowed 135 against Toronto, 124 against Washington, 134 against Boston and 133 against New York. That's a difficult defensive record to bring into another matchup with the Celtics.
Best Bet: Boston Celtics -15.5 (-104)
I'll lay the points with Boston, but this is a big number. Chicago hasn't shown it can slow down the Celtics, and Monday's 35-point loss wasn't particularly competitive. Boston has the offensive ability to build another substantial lead.
The danger is that Chicago makes enough adjustments to stay within fifteen, or Boston gets comfortable and rests its starters late. That's a real concern with a spread this large. Still, Chicago's defensive problems make Boston the preferred side.
NBA Pick: Boston -15.5 (-104)
Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets Best Bet
Detroit has been winning games through defense. The Pistons held Philadelphia to 93 points, New York to 111 and Charlotte to 89. They haven't needed to score 130 every night because they're making opponents work for their baskets.
Brooklyn has been more dangerous offensively than its record suggests. The Nets scored 124 against Boston on Tuesday and nearly stole that game, losing 125-124. But they've also allowed 136 to Indiana and 125 to Cleveland. That's a lot of defensive inconsistency.
Best Bet: Detroit Pistons -6.5 (-120)
Give me Detroit. Brooklyn can score enough to make this interesting, and that's the biggest concern when laying more than six points on the road. But the Pistons have been the better defensive team, and they should be able to control stretches of this game.
Detroit doesn't need an explosive offensive night. If the Pistons keep Brooklyn around 105 or 110 points, they have a good chance to cover.
NBA Pick: Detroit -6.5 (-120)
New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Best Bet
New York has started putting together better offensive performances. The Knicks beat Detroit 111-97 on Tuesday and followed with a 133-127 victory over Chicago on Wednesday. The offense looks much more comfortable than it did during the losses to Boston and Orlando.
Philadelphia is coming off a 114-109 victory at Indiana. The 76ers have also beaten Cleveland and Milwaukee, showing they can handle good opponents. They get home court in this matchup, and that matters against a New York team still working through some early-season inconsistency.
Best Bet: Philadelphia 76ers Moneyline
I'll take Philadelphia at home, provided the moneyline is reasonably close to even. The 76ers have shown enough offensive balance to compete, and I like their ability to make New York work defensively.
The Knicks could certainly win. Their offense has looked better over the last two games, and Philadelphia hasn't been flawless defensively. But the home-court advantage gives the 76ers a slight edge in what should be a competitive game.
NBA Pick: Philadelphia Moneyline — Verify Price
Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors Best Bet
These teams just played Wednesday, and Toronto won 129-99. That's a thirty-point beating, and it wasn't a fluke caused by a last-minute scoring run. The Raptors controlled the game and never gave Orlando much room to recover.
Orlando has struggled offensively, managing just 99 points in Toronto after scoring 111 against New York. The Magic need to do a much better job generating quality shots if they're going to reverse Wednesday's result.
Best Bet: Toronto Raptors -5.5
I'll lay the points with Toronto. The Raptors have already shown they can exploit Orlando's offensive problems, and getting another home game against the same opponent is an advantage.
The concern is that Orlando makes the obvious adjustments after getting embarrassed. The Magic are capable of defending much better than they did Wednesday. Still, Toronto only needs to win by six this time, not thirty. I'll back the Raptors.
NBA Pick: Toronto -5.5 — Verify Price
Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks Best Bet
Houston is off to a 5-0 start, and the Rockets have been scoring consistently. They beat Dallas 128-110 in their first meeting, then followed with victories over San Antonio, Atlanta twice and Milwaukee. Wednesday's 132-100 win over the Bucks was another impressive performance.
Dallas is 3-2 and coming off a 120-96 victory over Oklahoma City. That was a strong response from the Mavericks, particularly defensively. Dallas has home court for this rematch, and the Rockets shouldn't expect another easy game.
Best Bet: Houston Rockets -5.5 (-110)
I'll lay the points with Houston. The Rockets have been the more consistent team, and their 18-point victory over Dallas already showed they can create problems for the Mavericks. Houston has scored at least 114 points in every game.
Dallas beating Oklahoma City by 24 is a warning sign. The Mavericks are capable of playing much better than they did in the first meeting. But Houston has been too dependable offensively to ignore, and 5.5 is a manageable spread.
NBA Pick: Houston -5.5 (-110)
Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Best Bet
Indiana has been inconsistent, losing 114-109 to Philadelphia on Wednesday after previously losing to Milwaukee and Dallas. The Pacers have enough offense to compete, but their defensive play hasn't been dependable.
Miami finally got a convincing win Wednesday, beating Atlanta 129-117. That was a much better offensive performance after a difficult opening stretch. The Heat get home court and are favored by 7.5 points.
Best Bet: Indiana Pacers +7.5 (-110)
I'm taking Indiana with the points. Miami's win over Atlanta was encouraging, but I'm not convinced one strong offensive night means the Heat should be laying more than seven against a Pacers team capable of scoring.
Indiana needs to defend better than it has recently, and that's the concern. But the Pacers have enough offensive ability to stay within two or three possessions even if Miami wins.
NBA Pick: Indiana +7.5 (-110)
LA Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Best Bet
Minnesota has been one of the better teams through the opening week, although the Timberwolves lost 119-114 to Golden State on Wednesday. Their defense had been excellent against Miami, Orlando and Toronto, but the Warriors found ways to score.
The Clippers have struggled offensively. They managed only 87 points against the Lakers on Wednesday, and they've had difficulty sustaining productive possessions against stronger defensive teams.
Best Bet: Minnesota Timberwolves -7.5 (-110)
I'll lay the points with Minnesota. The Timberwolves have shown the stronger overall form, and the Clippers' offensive problems make this a difficult road assignment.
The concern is that Minnesota could struggle offensively itself after Wednesday's loss, allowing the Clippers to hang around. Still, the Timberwolves have been the more dependable team at both ends of the floor. I'll back the home favorite.
NBA Pick: Minnesota -7.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors Best Bet
The Lakers have already beaten Golden State 127-105 this season. They also beat the Clippers 103-87 on Wednesday, showing they can win when the offense isn't producing 130 points.
Golden State has been inconsistent, but the Warriors have also shown how dangerous they can be. They scored 134 in Denver and followed with a 119-114 victory at Minnesota. That's two impressive road performances against quality opponents.
Best Bet: Los Angeles Lakers -1.5 (-115)
I'll take the Lakers at a short spread. Los Angeles has already handled Golden State once and has been the more dependable defensive team recently. The Lakers don't need to win by much, and a three-point victory would be enough.
Golden State's recent road victories are the obvious concern. The Warriors have enough offense to win this outright, especially at home. But I prefer the Lakers in a close game.
NBA Pick: Lakers -1.5 (-115)
Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns Best Bet
Denver has been difficult to figure out. The Nuggets scored 141 against New Orleans, then allowed 134 in a loss to Golden State, before winning 104-91 at New Orleans on Wednesday. That's three very different games in a short stretch.
Phoenix has also been inconsistent, but the Suns have home court and have already beaten Golden State 131-122. The Nuggets are favored by around four points, which gives Phoenix a little room to remain competitive.
Best Bet: Phoenix Suns +4.5 (-110)
I'll take Phoenix with the points. Denver is the stronger team on paper, but the Nuggets haven't been consistent enough to make me eager to lay multiple possessions on the road.
Phoenix needs to defend better than it has in some early games, and that's the concern. But the Suns have shown they can score against good opponents, and getting 4.5 points at home makes them worth backing.
NBA Pick: Phoenix +4.5 (-110)
NBA Best Bet of the Day
Houston Rockets -5.5 (-110) against the Dallas Mavericks is my NBA Best Bet of the Day. Houston is 5-0, has scored at least 114 points in every game and already beat Dallas by eighteen earlier this season. The Rockets have been consistent offensively and have demonstrated they can win away from home.
Dallas is coming off an impressive victory over Oklahoma City, so I don't expect this to be easy. But Houston has been the more dependable team, and 5.5 points is a reasonable number for a club playing this well.
Final Pick: Houston Rockets -5.5 (-110)
