If you are digging into sharp NBA picks, this matchup has key angles on both the spread and total. Oklahoma City is on the second leg of a back-to-back, while Detroit looks to bounce back after its five-game winning streak ended.

Thunder vs Pistons Game Preview and Analysis

This is the first meeting of the season between these teams. Oklahoma City handled Detroit last year, winning and covering both matchups. That history matters, especially since six of the last seven meetings have stayed under the total.

The Thunder come in hot since the break. They are 3-0 straight-up and against the spread. They just won in Toronto, with Cason Wallace scoring 27 points. Wallace and Isaiah Joe combined to shoot 10-of-16 from three. Wallace, Joe, and Lu Dort all played 33 or more minutes, so fatigue is something I am watching on this back-to-back.

Oklahoma City is expected to remain without Ajay Mitchell, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jalen Williams. The market is also bracing for possible rest ahead of this contest. Even with those concerns, this line has climbed from 5.5 to 7. That tells me bettors are leaning Detroit, but I see value grabbing the points.

Detroit had its five-game winning streak snapped by San Antonio. Cade Cunningham shot just 5-of-26 in that loss. When he struggles, the Pistons’ offense can stall. Oklahoma City is one of the better teams at locking down a star player. If Lu Dort and the Thunder back court can disrupt Cunningham, this game should stay tight.

The total has bounced between 218.5 and 220.5 before settling at 219.5. Even though the over has hit in six of Oklahoma City’s last eight games, this matchup trend leans under. With OKC on a back-to-back and Detroit relying heavily on one scorer, I see a more controlled pace.

OKC and DET Key Injuries and Notes

  • OKC: Ajay Mitchell, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jalen Williams are expected to remain out.
  • OKC: Wallace, Joe, and Dort each logged 33 or more minutes in Toronto.
  • DET: Isaiah Stewart is serving a suspension.
  • DET: No other players are listed on the injury report.

Thunder vs Pistons Final Score Prediction

I expect Detroit to win at home, but this spread feels inflated. Oklahoma City has been playing with confidence, and their defense can make life tough on Cunningham.

  • Projected Final Score: Detroit 110, Oklahoma City 106

ATS and Total Picks
