Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is third in the league with 33.6 points per game on 52.6% shooting. Chet Holmgren missed the team’s last three games with lower back soreness, but he has been removed from the injury report, so he will be back for this one. The 7-foot-1 center is averaging 23 points per game.

The Thunder rank second in the league in scoring defense, allowing 109.7 points per game. Opponents are shooting just 42.7% from the field against them, with 13.6 threes. Thunder vs. Clippers Picks

Spread Pick for Thunder vs. Clippers

  • Oklahoma City -5 (5 units)

This is the first meeting between the two this season. Last year, Oklahoma City went 4-0 SU and 3-0-1 ATS versus Los Angeles. The Thunder are getting Holmgren back in the starting lineup for this matchup, which is a big boost for a team that currently doesn’t need one. He boosts both ends of the floor for the team, and that will be an issue for the Clippers' offense mostly, as the paint becomes a lot harder to operate in. OKC is also getting a great contribution from their bench, 39.7 to 35.6 per game, scored by the Clippers. In terms of common opponents, both teams played New Orleans over the weekend at home. The Thunder beat the Pelicans by 31 while the Clippers escaped with a two-point victory over them. This is the first time this season that Los Angeles is playing on back-to-back nights, so that will be an issue with their aging stars. Oklahoma City is 7-2-1 ATS in its last ten games against Los Angeles.

Take the Thunder giving the points.

Over/Under Pick for Thunder vs. Clippers

  • Over 222.5 (5 units)

This matchup features a top-scoring offense and one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league. Both teams rank in the top five in scoring defense, which is why the spread here is so low, but there are some signs that things could turn in the opposite direction here. Both teams rank in the bottom third of the league in pace, per DunksandThrees.com, but Oklahoma City is 5th in adjusted offense, and the Clippers go from last in pace to 16th in adjusted offense. The Thunder has scored 125 points in four of seven games, including their last two. Even without Holmgren, their second leading scorer, the team scored 137 points on Sunday. The Clippers put up 114 points or more in three games this season and they are coming off of their best shooting effort on Friday, which can roll over at home. The over is 4-3 in the last seven games between the teams and 7-5 between the two teams this season.

Take the over.
