Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors Picks and Predictions for Friday, October 30, 2026

By: David Anicetti Published 10/30/2026, 12:05 AM ET

Orlando will have another chance against Toronto on Friday after Wednesday's game ended in a 129-99 loss. The Magic have dropped three of their first four games and sit fourth in the Southeast Division. Toronto, meanwhile, is 3-1 and second in the Atlantic after that 30-point win. Friday's meeting is part of NBA Cup group play, although the result will also count in the regular-season standings. The teams are back at Scotiabank Arena for a 7:30 pm ET tipoff on NBA League Pass. Orlando Magic Have Some Work to Do

Giving up 129 points was bad enough for Orlando on Wednesday, but scoring only 99 made the trip to Toronto even worse. The Magic had shown more fight in their 111-102 win over New York on Sunday. Before that, Minnesota beat them 115-93, and Atlanta handed them a 132-125 defeat. Orlando has now lost three of its first four regular-season games. The Magic are allowing 119.5 points per contest, and Toronto has already shown it can take advantage of their defensive problems.

Franz Wagner has been one of Orlando's busiest players, averaging 21 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists. He'll have to shoulder more of the scoring with Paolo Banchero out. Banchero averaged 24.5 points during his two appearances before getting injured. Wendell Carter Jr. has been Orlando's most accurate shooter, making 76% of his attempts while averaging 17 points and 8.7 rebounds. Desmond Bane is contributing 15 points but has connected on only one-third of his shots. Orlando also needs to cut down its 17 turnovers per game.

Injuries: Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, Noah Penda and Izaiyah Nelson are out. Jonathan Isaac is questionable.

Toronto Raptors Have Had Orlando's Number

The Raptors couldn't have asked for much more from Wednesday's meeting. They scored 129 points, held Orlando to 99 and picked up their third victory in four games. Toronto had lost 117-94 at Minnesota on Sunday, so Wednesday's response was encouraging. Earlier wins over Washington and Chicago included a 135-92 rout of the Bulls. The Raptors have scored at least 129 points in both home games and are allowing only 102.5 points per contest. Friday brings another opportunity to make things difficult for Orlando.

RJ Barrett has been Toronto's leading scorer, averaging 21 points on 51% shooting. Immanuel Quickley has added 18 points and five assists, while Scottie Barnes is contributing 17 points and 7.7 rebounds. Barnes has struggled with his shooting, making 35.1% from the field, but he's also collecting two steals per game. Toronto has been particularly active defensively, averaging 14 steals. The Raptors are pulling down 46 rebounds per outing, which gives them another advantage against an Orlando team missing its leading scorer.

Injuries: Nate Bittle and Kawhi Leonard are out.

Key To The Game

Orlando cannot afford another careless night with the basketball. The Magic average 17 turnovers, and Toronto has been collecting 14 steals per game. That's a dangerous combination, especially with Banchero unavailable. Wagner and Carter need to provide more offense, but Toronto has already shown it can limit Orlando's scoring. Rebounding could also matter. The Raptors average 46 boards compared with Orlando's 43.7. If the Magic cannot protect possession or control the glass, Friday could resemble Wednesday's meeting.

Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors Game Pick

  • Toronto Raptors

It's difficult to find a convincing reason to go against Toronto after Wednesday's result. The Raptors won by 30 points, and Orlando returns to the same building without Banchero. Wagner and Carter can certainly help the Magic improve offensively, but Toronto has more available scoring options. Barrett has been reliable, while Quickley and Barnes give the Raptors additional ways to attack. Orlando's turnover problems are another concern against Toronto's aggressive defense. I expect a closer game than Wednesday, but the Raptors should win again at home.

Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors Over/Under Pick

  • Under

Wednesday's game produced 228 combined points, but Orlando managed only 99 of them. The Magic have scored 102 or fewer in three of their four regular-season games, and Banchero's absence makes another difficult offensive performance possible. Toronto is allowing just 102.5 points per contest and held Chicago to 92 earlier this season. The Raptors can score, having reached 129 twice at home, but another big night isn't guaranteed. I expect Orlando to struggle with Toronto's defense again, keeping the combined score relatively modest. I'm taking the under.
