76ers vs. Wizards Prediction

The NBA features an Eastern Conference tilt between the Philadelphia 76ers (3-0) and the Washington Wizards (1-2) on Tuesday, and we’ve got you covered with our 76ers vs. Wizards prediction. Below, I’ll touch on each team’s recent form and recap their latest game, before concluding with picks and predictions on this contest that gets underway at 7:00 ET from Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. 76ers Enter on a Back-to-Back

If there were an award for the biggest disappointment, the Philadelphia 76ers would likely take the cake over the past few years. They have one of the league’s biggest stars in Joel Embiid, but the big man cannot stay healthy. He and Paul George both missed Monday’s game against the Magic with their respective knee injuries. Philadelphia won that game 136-124 over Orlando, and they sit at 3-0 entering Tuesday’s contest. This will be the second night of a back-to-back, and last year’s squad went 2-13 SU and 6-9 ATS on zero days of rest. Overall in 2025-26, the 76ers are 2-1 ATS and 3-0 to the over.

With Embiid’s nagging injuries, it has allowed for Tyrese Maxey to prove that he can produce at a superstar caliber in this league as well. The guard paved the way in Monday’s 136-124 win over the Magic, dropping 43 points and dishing out a team-leading eight assists. From the team level, Philadelphia held edges in three-point shooting (42.4% to 32.0%) and turnovers (7 to 13), while Orlando was better in field goal rate (54.9% to 49.5%) and rebounding (43 to 39). The Sixers (+6.5) covered in the outright win.

  • The 76ers are scoring 126.0 points per game, which is the fifth-most in the NBA.
  • They own a field goal rate of 47.6% (14th), while cashing 42.9% of their triples (first).
  • Philadelphia’s defense is 17th in efficiency, allowing 113.5 points per 100 possessions.

Wizards Crushed By Hornets

The Washington Wizards have been one of the laughing stocks of the NBA for several seasons now, and they’ve missed the playoffs six times across the last eight years. They’re running it back with Coach Brian Keefe, and he’s looking to build on an 18-64 season in 2024-25. So far, the Wizards are just 1-2 out of the gate. They notched a win over the Mavericks (117-107), but the lone victory is bookended by defeats against the Bucks (133-120) and the Hornets (139-113), more recently. From a sports betting perspective, Washington is 1-2 ATS and 2-1 to the over. As for the season-long outlook, the Wizards are a +2000 long shot just to make the playoffs.

The Wizards were a slim 1.5-point home favorite against the Hornets on Sunday, and they clearly didn’t cover in the 26-point blowout loss. Statistically, Charlotte was better in every major category, including field goal rate (51.1% to 45.1%), three-point shooting (39.5% to 29.4%), turnovers (12 to 15), and rebounding (40 to 52). Individually, CJ McCollum led the way with 24 points and a team-leading five assists. Alex Sarr added 21 points on a 9-15 (60%) shooting night.

  • Washington is averaging 116.7 points per game, which is the 17th-most in the Association.
  • The Wizards are currently ranked 18th in field goal rate (45.9%) and 11th in three-point shooting (37.5%).
  • Defensively, they are ninth in efficiency, conceding 109.0 points per 100 possessions.

76ers vs. Wizards Pick

Spread Pick for 76ers vs. Wizards

  • Philadelphia 76ers -4.5 (-110) (5 units)

The Philadelphia 76ers are a tough handicap right now simply due to Joel Embiid (knee) and his “injury management.” The team didn’t play him on Monday out of precaution, which should allow him to play in some capacity on Tuesday.

Regardless of if he plays, I still love the 76ers in this one. Tyrese Maxey has taken over this team, and his 37.0 PPG pace has led Philadelphia to a 3-0 SU start. They’re also a profitable 2-1 ATS this season. This should be a nice matchup for the Sixers, as they take on a Wizards team that’s conceding 126.3 points per game (27th). Opponents are hitting 37.1% of their triples against Washington (22nd), and considering that Philadelphia leads the Association in three-point shooting (42.9%), it opens the door for a multi-possession win.

Over/Under Pick for 76ers vs. Wizards

  • Over 237.5 (-110) (5 units)

I’m also playing the over in this one. Philadelphia is 3-0 to the over, while Washington is 2-1. This should be a higher-paced game. The Wizards are fourth in pace this season, using 110.6 possessions per game. The 76ers are just 21st (103.9), but considering the matchup against a quick opponent that lacks defensive structure, they should be interested in running the floor.

Neither defense has been overpowering. I mentioned that the Wizards are allowing 126.3 points per game. Well, the 76ers have conceded an average of 120.3 points per game this year. Washington has some solid veterans on their team, and as long as they have a decent shooting night, we should clear this total. Give me the over.
