Warriors vs Grizzlies Prediction

San Antonio vs Golden State picks are worth a close look because the matchup is being shaped by injuries, schedule spots, and a line that has moved hard in one direction. If you are looking for sharp NBA picks, this is the kind of game where I trust the numbers more than the brand names on the jerseys.

San Antonio vs Golden State Game Preview and Analysis

This matchup is simple for me. I respect the fact that Golden State has already pulled off two road upsets in San Antonio this season. That matters, and it tells me the Warriors have not been intimidated by the Spurs.

But this is a completely different situation. Golden State is playing with a skeleton roster. Steph Curry is out, and he was the biggest reason Golden State won those first two meetings. Curry scored 46 in the first contest and 49 in the second. Without that type of scoring, I have serious doubts about how the Warriors generate enough offense to keep pace.

The injury list for Golden State is brutal. L.J. Cryer, Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis, and Seth Curry are all out. Will Richard and De'Anthony Melton are questionable. That is not just one missing star. That is multiple missing scorers and creators. When a team loses that much shot-making, it changes the entire handicap.

On the other side, San Antonio is in a great spot. The Spurs are on the second leg of a back-to-back, but the minutes last night were managed perfectly. No Spurs player logged more than 27 minutes, and that is huge. Victor Wembanyama was dominant, scoring 40 points with 12 rebounds in just 26 minutes against the Lakers.

It also matters that the Lakers game was not a grind. Los Angeles sat LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and DeAndre Ayton, and San Antonio jumped out early. The Spurs had a 29-point lead at halftime, and they were able to coast. That is exactly what you want before traveling into San Francisco.

San Antonio also brings a five-game winning streak into this matchup. When I see a team playing with confidence, plus a clear rest advantage from managed minutes, I am comfortable laying points.

The market agrees. The spread has moved from Spurs -6.5 to Spurs -8. That is a meaningful jump, and the public is leaning San Antonio as well. I do not love following the public, but in this case, the injury situation for Golden State explains the move.

The total is where things get interesting. The number opened at 216.5 and has been bet up as high as 221.5 before settling around 220.5. The public is heavily on the Over. That makes sense on the surface, because Wembanyama is coming off a monster game.

But I am taking the Under. My reasoning is simple: I do not trust Golden State to score without Curry and multiple other key players. I see a path where San Antonio scores efficiently, but the Warriors struggle to reach triple digits. If Golden State cannot score, the total becomes much harder to clear.
