Spurs

San Antonio is playing its best basketball of the season. The Spurs have won nine straight and covered the last four meetings against Toronto. They opened their rodeo road trip with wins over Sacramento and Detroit, and now they face a tired Raptors squad.

The biggest mismatch is inside. Victor Wembanyama stands at 7-foot-5. In the October meeting, he scored 24 points with 15 rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting. Toronto had Jakob Poeltl in that game. Poeltl did not play last night and is dealing with a back injury.

San Antonio is getting healthier at the right time. Mason Plumlee remains out, but he has started conditioning drills and is close to returning. The rest of the roster is available.

Raptors

Toronto is coming off a home loss to Oklahoma City. The Raptors shot 47.4 percent from three, but they were crushed in the paint and on the glass. The Thunder out-rebounded them by 15 and outscored them 56-38 in the paint.

The starting five all logged more than 30 minutes in that game. Now they turn around on short rest against a Spurs team that attacks the rim and controls the boards.

Without Poeltl, Toronto has used Collin Murray-Boyles at 6-foot-7 and Sandro Mamukelashvili at 6-foot-9 in the middle. That size gap against Wembanyama is hard to ignore.

Spurs vs Raptors Game Preview and Analysis

San Antonio is on the front end of a back-to-back, but momentum matters. The Spurs are defending well, rebounding, and finishing at the rim. Toronto’s interior defense was exposed last night. That is a problem against this matchup.

The Raptors’ best path is pace. They need to push the tempo and turn this into a shootout. Given the recent total movement and both teams’ ability to score, I lean toward points.

Still, the stronger angle is the spread. San Antonio’s size, form, and rest edge in the paint should create separation. If the Spurs dominate second-chance points and paint touches, they can control this game from start to finish.

Key Injuries and Notes - SA and TOR

  • SA: Mason Plumlee remains out but is close to returning.
  • TOR: Jakob Poeltl did not play last night and is dealing with a back injury.
  • Toronto’s starters played more than 30 minutes in their last game.
  • San Antonio has won and covered the last four meetings.

Final Score Prediction

I expect the Spurs to dominate inside and control the rebounding battle once again.

  • Projected Final Score: San Antonio 121, Toronto 112

ATS and Total Picks

  • ATS Pick: San Antonio -7.5
  • Total Pick: Over 229.5
