Washington Wizards vs Orlando Magic Picks and Prediction for Monday November 2 2026
Orlando is at home, and I understand why some people want to take the Magic.
But have you seen their injury report?
They’re missing Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs. That’s two guys who make a pretty big difference to the offense. And Washington just held Charlotte to 79 points.
I’m not saying the Wizards are suddenly contenders. Far from it. But this looks like a much closer game than people might expect.
Washington visits the Kia Center in Orlando on Monday, November 2, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 PM ET. The Wizards have had the weekend off, while Orlando plays Boston on Sunday. That extra rest matters, especially when the Magic are already short-handed. Get into the action for the NBA season with our free NBA picks.
Washington Wizards Have a Chance to Build Some Momentum
Washington is 3-3, including 1-2 on the road. The Wizards beat Charlotte 95-79 Friday after losing 121-111 in Cleveland. That Charlotte game wasn’t particularly pretty offensively, but holding an NBA team below 80 points gets my attention. Washington needs more nights like that if it wants to stay competitive.
The Wizards have been averaging about 110.5 points and allowing 109.7. That’s a small positive scoring margin, but it’s better than what Orlando has managed. Washington has also been shooting around 46 percent from the field, although its three-point shooting has been unreliable. That’s the concern. If the Wizards can’t make outside shots, Orlando can crowd the paint and make every possession difficult.
Anthony Davis has been Washington’s leading scorer at about 22 points a game and has been grabbing more than eight rebounds. Trae Young is averaging better than ten assists, giving the Wizards somebody who can create good shots when the offense stalls. Justin Champagnie, Tristan Vukcevic and Jamir Watkins are out, while Tre Johnson has been dealing with Achilles soreness. Those absences hurt the depth, but Washington still has its main offensive creators available.
Orlando Magic Need Somebody to Step Up
Orlando enters Sunday’s Boston game at 2-3. The Magic lost 129-99 in Toronto Wednesday, then went back to Toronto Friday and won 121-114. That’s quite a turnaround. They showed they can respond after a bad game, but doing it consistently has been another story.
Orlando has been averaging about 110 points while allowing more than 118. That’s not the kind of defense people usually associate with the Magic. They’ve also been turning the ball over too often, and that gives Washington a chance to steal some easy baskets. Orlando still has size and athleticism, but without its main playmakers, the offense has to work harder to get quality shots.
Banchero was averaging 24.5 points and 7.5 assists before suffering his ankle injury. That’s a lot of production to replace. Suggs is also out with a knee problem, while Jonathan Isaac, Noah Penda and Izaiyah Nelson are unavailable. Wendell Carter Jr. has been collecting about nine rebounds a game, and Orlando needs him to control the glass. But the Magic are missing too much creation from their regular rotation.
Washington Wizards vs Orlando Magic Picks and Prediction
Washington Wizards Moneyline
I’m taking Washington. Orlando can win this game with its defense and rebounding, especially at home. I get that. But the Magic are missing two important offensive players, and they’re playing Boston on Sunday before this one. Washington has the rest advantage, and Young gives the Wizards a dependable way to create offense late. I don’t expect a blowout. I just think Washington has a better chance than the home-court advantage suggests.
Under 229.5 Points — Target Total
I’d look Under 229.5 if that’s the number available. Orlando is missing a lot of offense, and Washington just played a 174-point game against Charlotte. The Magic can still score when they get out and run, so that’s the danger. But without Banchero and Suggs, I think Orlando will have some difficult stretches in the half court. Washington isn’t a great three-point shooting team either. Something around Wizards 113-108 sounds reasonable.
Final Picks: Washington Wizards Moneyline and Under 229.5 Points (target total)
