Last year, Indiana won all four games, but covered just one against Washington. The Pacers are a 6.5-point favorite and the total is at 240. Wizards finally win a game

Washington came into Tuesday's game against Atlanta having lost 14 straight games and 10 straight NBA Cup games. The Wizards were 11-point home underdogs against Atlanta and smashed them 132-111 to win their first home game of the season. Their only other victory took place at Dallas in the second game of the season. C.J. McCollum had a huge game with 46 points on 17-of-25 shooting, while center Alex Sarr added 27 points and 11 rebounds with two blocks.

Washington shot 57% from the field against the Hawks and 19-of-38 from long range. Offense hasn't been a major issue with McCollum, averaging 18.2 points on 42.1% shooting from 3-point range. Sarr, in his second season, leads the Wiz with 18.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and two blocks.

The biggest issue for Washington is on the defensive side, where the Wiz allow 47.9% shooting (22nd) and 37% from beyond the arc (24th). They are also one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, ranking 30th in rebounding rate.

Key Injury Report for the Wizards:

  • G Kyshawn George (illness) is questionable, Third leading scorer
  • G Tre Johnson (hip) is expected to miss some time.
  • G Corey Kispert (fractured thumb) will be out for a few weeks.

Pacers are starting to get healthy

Indiana has been horrible this season, but they have an excuse. Injuries have been devastating and it started last season in the NBA Finals when they lost star point guard Tyrese Haliburton (18.6ppg, 9.2apg last year) to a ruptured Achilles. They also lost Myles Tuner to Milwaukee and Obi Toppin (14ppg), who provides great production off the bench or as a starter, is out indefinitely with a foot injury (likely back in February).

Pascal Siakam is healthy and leading the Pacers with 24.8 points per game with 7.1 rebounds. Guard Andrew Nembhard adds 18.3 points and 6.4 assists. The problem with the Pacers has been their shooting as they are making just 41.5% of their shots (30th) and 31.2% from long range (30th). On defense, they are 24th in the NBA in field goal percentage defense (48.3%).

Key Injury Report for Pacers

  • F Obi Toppin (foot) is out until February.
  • G Aaron Nesmith (knee) is out.
  • C Isaiah Jackson (knee) is out. Played just five games. Avg 11.8ppg

Spread Pick for Wizards vs. Pacers:

Wizards vs. Pacers Pick and Prediction

  • Washington +6.5 (4 units)

The Wizards get an extra day of rest and should have Kyshawn George back for this one. They had been getting closer to wins before Atlanta, losing by one to Chicago on Nov. 22 and have covered three of the last four games. The Pacers did beat Charlotte on Nov. 19, but have been just as bad as the Wizards this season, especially on the offensive end. This is a battle of one bad defensive team and one team that really isn't good on either end of the court.

Over/Under Pick for Wizards vs. Pacers

  • Under 240 (4 units)

Washington is 4th in pace of play in the NBA and Indiana is 7th so both teams want to get out and run. If you're Indiana and struggling to shoot, their best chance to score is to get out in transition. Indiana has gone over in four of their last five games. Washington has gone over in five of their last seven games.
