Will the Wizards ever win a game again?
Washington had a team meeting with just the players after their embarrassing 129-106 loss to Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon at home. They played better in their next game on Wednesday, but still fell at Minnesota, 120-109, covering the 16 points. They also played without center Alex Sarr (toe), who has been their leading scorer and rebounder this season. Without Sarr, Kyshawn George stepped up with 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
If Sarr doesn't return to a team that has lost 12 straight, veteran center Marvin Bagley will have to step in at center again. He had 13 points and seven rebounds with three steals against the Timberwolves. Washington tends to really struggle in the second and/or third quarter. Against Minnesota, they were down 71-46 at the half, but managed to rally to a 36-23 third quarter.
Washington is last or near-last in most categories. On DunksandThrees.com, they are last overall in Net Ratings, 29th in Adjusted Offense and 30th in Adjusted Defense. Offensively, Washington shoots 37.6% from long range to rank 10th overall.

Key Injury Report for Washington:
- C A. Sarr (toe) is questionable. Leads the team with 18.3 points, 3.6apg, 2.2bpg and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Toronto looking for the NBA Cup
The Raptors are playing as well as anyone in the NBA right now. They've not only won five straight but also nine of 10 straight games. In their game on Wednesday, they defeated Philadelphia 121-112 on the road thanks to a 44-26 third quarter. Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett led the Raptors with 22 points each, while Jakob Poeltl added 19 points.
Toronto is a team that always seems to take a back seat to New York, Milwaukee and Cleveland in conversation about winning the Eastern Conference, but this their best stretch of 10 games since February of 2022. It starts with a defense that holds teams to just 32.4% from long range to rank fourth in the league. Long wings Scottie Barnes (6-8, 237) and Ingram (6-8, 190) lead the perimeter defense. Ingram (20.9ppg), Barrett (19.3ppg) and Barnes (19.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 5.3apg) along with Immanuel Quickley (15.9ppg, 6.1apg) are as strong a foursome in the NBA. Add Poeltl in the middle with 12 points and 7.5 rebounds; they can be in the mix if they are healthy.
They are rated 13th overall by DunksandThrees.com and 12th in both Adjusted Offense and Defense.
Key Injury Report for Raptors:
- F Collin Murray-Broyles (knee) is out. Averages 8.5ppg.

Final Score Prediction
- Toronto 135-Washington 118
Spread Pick
- Toronto -13 (4 units)
It's tough to pick Washington, not knowing if Saar is going to play, because he's been their best player this season. However, they finally covered a game without him and they are just 3-11 ATS. Toronto is one of the most complete teams in the NBA and they've been a covering machine lately against pretty good competition. Most of those games were played on the road, making their run even more impressive. One of the biggest issues for Washington is their bench, and that's a significant reason why they struggle in the second quarter.
Over/Under Pick for Wizards vs. Raptors Prediction
- Over 240.5 (4 units)
Washington is 5-2 Over in their last seven games and they are fifth in pace in the NBA, while Toronto is 12th. Toronto plays much better defense, but Washington will score some points. They have good long range shooters in George (45.5%), C.J.McCollum (37.5%) and rookie Tre Johnson (38%) are all capable. But Toronto has plenty of scorers who will certainly take advantage of the paint, especially if Saar is out.
