Key Matchups for Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns
Jackson expected to play
Lamar Jackson missed some time this season with a hamstring injury and the Ravens lost to the Texans (44-10) at home and the Rams (17-3) with Cooper Rush as the starting quarterback. Tyler Huntley started against Chicago, and they beat the Bears 30-16 on Oct. 26. Jackson returned on a Thursday night at Miami and helped Baltimore win easily 28-6. Last week, the Ravens fell behind early but pretty much dominated Minnesota 27-19 on the road. Jackson was a pedestrian, 17 of 29 for 176 yards with a TD, and ran for 36 yards. But it was the defense that was the story as they picked off QB JJ McCarthy twice and forced two fumbles on kickoff returns (picking up one).
Jackson (knee soreness) missed Wednesday's practice, but practiced fully on Thursday, so he's expected to get the start on Sunday. Jackson is completing 65.4% of his passes for 1,249 yards with 15 TDs and just one pick. He's not running as much with 216 yards in six games. Derrick Henry leads the ground attack with 704 yards rushing (4.8ypc) and six TDs. Zay Flowers has 50 catches for 625 yards and one TD to lead the Ravens. Baltimore's defense has been suspect all season, but they have improved from being at the bottom to near the bottom in most categories.
Getting a healthy Roquan Smith back at linebacker and adding DE Dre'Mont Jones from Tennessee should make them at least competent.
Tough times for the Browns
Cleveland opened the season with Joe Flacco at quarterback and, after trading him to Cincinnati, is relying on rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, who will be making his fifth start. Last week, the Browns fell to the lowly NY Jets 27-20 for their fifth loss in their last six games and second straight. Gabriel completed 17 of 32 for 167 yards and two TDs. The Browns held the Jets to just 12 first downs but gave up 292 yards in punt and kick returns, including a 74-yard punt return in the first quarter.
Gabriel is completing 58.6% of his passes for 869 yards with seven TDs and two picks. Rookie Quinshon Judkins adds 561 yards rushing and five TDs (4ypc). The leading receiver is rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr., who has 42 catches for 396 yards and two TDs, but he's questionable with a hamstring injury. He did have four catches for 44 yards last week.
While the offense is a disaster, the Browns' defense is elite as they rank second in the NFL in yards allowed per game (264.9ypg) and second in passing yards allowed (167ypg). The defensive line is really good, led by Pro Bowl DE Myles Garrett who has 11 sacks and 34 tackles. Maliek Collins adds four sacks from the interior, though he's listed as questionable for this game with an oblique injury.

Ravens vs. Browns ATS and Over/Under Betting Picks

Browns vs. Ravens Final Score Prediction
- Baltimore 24-13
Expect the line to change somewhat with Jackson expected to go on Sunday. Yes, this is a dangerous game, and when look back at the first game, Joe Flacco was the starting quarterback. He struggled, but the defense kept them in the game, and then the second half started. The Ravens ran for 163 yards in that game and I expect a similar result with fewer points. The Browns are still tough defensively even if Collins doesn't play, but Jackson should have a strong game in the decent weather, looking for his tight ends and throwing to Henry, Keaton Mitchell and Justice Hill out of the backfield. Take the under as well going up against Gabriel with a Ravens' defense that is starting to turn the corner.
