Key Matchups for Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
Burrow and Chase are back
Cincinnati has lost four straight, so even with Burrow returning, their playoff chances are slim at 3-8 with the Ravens coming again two weeks, Buffalo on the road before facing subpar teams in Miami, Arizona and Cleveland. The Bengals fought against the Patriots last week at home, but fell 26-20. It was a pick-six affair in the second quarter when safety Geno Stone picked off Drake Maye and returned it 32 yards for a TD. About seven minutes later, Marcus Jones picked off Joe Flacco for a 33-yard INT return for a score. Flacco threw for 183 yards with a TD and a pick, while Chase Brown rushed for 107 yards in the loss.
Flacco has done well in place of Burrow with 2,451 yards passing with 15 TDs and 10 picks. Burrow threw just 36 passes before the injury with two TDs and no picks. Brown leads the running attack with 626 yards. The Bengals have the premier WR duo in the NFL led by Ja'Marr Chase (79 catches for 861 yds, 5 TDs), who was suspended for the New England game, and Tee Higgins (40 for 575 yds, 7 TDs), who is out with a concussion for Thursday night.
DE Trey Hendrickson (hip) leads the team with four sacks, but has played in just four games due to injuries and will miss this one. The defense ranks last in total yards allowed (415.8) and in passing yards allowed per game (259.8) and 31st in rushing yards allowed per game (156ypg).
What has happened to Lamar Jackson?
Baltimore has won five straight, but Lamar Jackson has not been himself at quarterback after returning from missing three games with a hamstring injury. In the last three weeks, he's missed at least one day of practice with a knee, foot and this week it was a toe injury. Jackson not only hardly even runs the football, but he's been inaccurate as a passer, possibly due to the lower leg injuries.
It's not like Jackson is having a terrible season. Expectations were high coming into this season after Jackson put up another monster season in 2024 with 4,172 yards passing, 41 TDs and four INTs with 915 yards rushing and four scores (66.7%). This season, in eight games, he's rushed for just 237 yards while passing for 1,595 yards with 15 TDs and three picks. But in the last four games, he's averaged just 181.5 yards per game in the air with five TDs and two picks.
Baltimore scored just three points in the first half against the Jets and then woke up with two Derrick Henry two-yard TD runs in the third quarter to pull away 23-10 (-13.5 point favorite). Henry has 871 rushing yards and nine TDs on 4.7 yards per carry. Zay Flowers is the top target at WR with 58 catches for 761 yards and one TD. Defensively, Baltimore has stepped up lately, after a very slow start. They still ran just 24th against the pass (230ypg) and 24th in total yards per game allowed. Their pass rush has been poor but they have been assisted by Dre'Mont Jones (6 sacks for season), a 280-pound defensive end aquired from the Titans before the trade deadline

Bengals vs. Ravens Final Score Prediction
- Baltimore 24-Cincinnati 21
Baltimore's offense has been dreadful lately, as their offensive line is subpar and Jackson is just not very accurate as of late. He has one receiver in Flowers, while the Bengals have a little more than Chase with Higgins out. Brown has 41 catches out of the backfield and TE Noah Fant has 31 for 265 yards. Burrow will give them a big lift with his energy and he'll have time to throw because the Ravens won't blitz him as much as they would with Flacco as the starting QB. Baltimore's defense should be solid again, so go under on a cold Thursday night with temps in the mid-30's.
