Can the Bears extend their impressive winning streak?

After losing their first two games of the season, the Chicago Bears have rattled off four straight victories, and with the team going 2-1 on the road early in the season, they've given themselves every chance to compete in the competitive NFC North. Offensively, the Bears have taken some major steps forward in 2025, averaging 25 points a night this season, but with the defense giving up 26 a night, they'll need to be at their best to compete for a postseason spot this year.

The biggest reason for Chicago's success offensively has been the leap of second-year QB Caleb Williams, who now has a 9/3 TD/INT ratio, and with D'Andre Swift (419 yds, 3 TDs) leading the way on the ground, this team has struck a very nice balance. Last time out for the Bears was a dominant win over the New Orleans Saints, with the Bears' offense racking up 222 yards on the ground in this one as they limited New Orleans to just 253 yards while forcing four turnovers, picking up the massive 26-14 victory in the process.

The Bears' defense has also forced a league-high 16 takeaways, with safety Kevin Byard III tied for the lead in the NFL with four interceptions. They are allowing 137.7 yards per game to rank 28th, which could be an issue in this game.

Key injuries (D.J. Moore, D'Andre Swift, full practice on Thursday; Joe Thuney, Cole Kmet did not practice on Thursday).

Can the Ravens somehow save their season?

The Baltimore Ravens were rocked early in the 2025 season with the injury to star QB Lamar Jackson, and they've simply not recovered since then, dropping four straight games as their season is now on the brink of collapse with a 1-5 record. Despite Jackson's absence, the Ravens still average a respectable 24 points a night this season, but with the defense ranking 32nd in the National Football League with a whopping 32 points per game this year, they've just not given themselves a chance in games.

The good news for the Ravens is that they are coming off a bye week after a home loss to the Rams and will get LB Roquan Smith and CB Chidobe Awuzie back from hamstring injuries. They will get FB Pat Ricard back from a calf injury, but the key is Jackson's health (hamstring). While Jackson was off to a great start with 10 passing TDs in four games, since his injury, the team has yet to throw for a touchdown, but with the defense playing the way they have, no offense has been good enough to keep them in games. If Jackson can't play, they'll go with Tyler Huntley as the starter over Cooper Rush, who started the last two games.

Last time out for the Ravens was a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams at home on Oct. 12, with the team throwing for just 117 yards on the day as they would somehow outgain their opponents, but with three turnovers on the night, they fell in a tough performance 17-3.

Key injuries (Lamar Jackson limited practice on Thursday, De'Andre Hopkins did not practice on Thursday, Roquan Smith, Zay Flowers full practice on Thursday).

Chicago Bears vs. Baltimore Ravens picks

Moneyline pick for Bears vs. Ravens

  • Chicago +1.5 (4 units)

The Baltimore Ravens have been buoyed by Lamar Jackson's return to practice, but simply put, that's not going to help a defense that allows 32 points a game, and with the Bears winning four straight and going 2-1 on the road this season, this could be a major upset. (edit: Jackson will miss this game and odds have moved to Ravens -1.5)

Without Jackson, the Ravens have dropped two straight games and four straight overall. Now that he's out, and Tyler Huntley is expected to start, it gives the Bears a major advantage. The defense is another story when they're healthy or not. The Bears have been good on both sides of the ball, and that will help them to the upset win in Week 8.

Over/Under pick for Bears vs. Ravens

  • Over 44.5 (4 units)

On paper, neither of these teams leans on their defense to get the job done (Bears allow 26 points a night with Baltimore at 32), and with two defenses that struggle against the run and the pass.

For the Bears, the over sits at 3-3 in six games this season, with the team allowing 33 points a game on the road thus far, and for the Ravens, the over comes in at 5-1 this year, with 37 or more points allowed in four of those six games played.

Keep it simple, take the over.
