Game plan ready — NFL picks for the Cleveland Browns vs the Baltimore Ravens with the factors that move results.

Browns Looking to Bounce Back

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a tough 17-16 home loss on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Cleveland’s offense is led by quarterback Joe Flacco, who completed 31-of-45 passes for 290 yards with one passing touchdown and a pair of interceptions to begin the season. Flacco returns to Baltimore for the first time since he played for them in 2018. Since leaving the Ravens, Flacco has played for six different teams, mainly as a backup. Last week, the offense produced just 327 yards per game, with passing accounting for 278. The rushing game was where the team struggled, as they recorded just 49 yards. Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins could get his first touch this week as a runner after missing training camp

Defensively, Cleveland and Pro Bowl pass rusher Myles Garrett were fantastic last week, holding Joe Burrow and the high-powered Bengals' offense to just 141 total yards. However, new kicker Andre Szmyt missed an extra point and a 36-yard field goal with 2:25 left.

Injury Report for Cleveland

  • Offensive tackle Jack Conklin: Eye (Questionable)
  • Cornerback Denzel Ward: Shoulder (Questionable)
  • Offensive tackle Dawand Jones: Knee (Questionable)
  • Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr: Knee (Questionable)
  • Running back Quinshon Judkins: Non-injury (OUT)
  • Quarterback Deshaun Watson: Achilles (OUT)
  • Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: Neck (OUT)

Ravens Need to Shake Off Week 1

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to completely shake off their improbable 41-40 road loss on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills to open the season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson stepped up as he completed 14-of-19 passes for 209 yards with two touchdown passes as well as well as six carries for 70 yards (11.7 yards per attempt) with a rushing touchdown. Baltimore blew a 15-point lead late in the fourth quarter.  Running back Derrick Henry rushed for 169 yards and two TDs, but also had a crucial fumble late in the game. The Ravens put up 238 yards rushing and 209 yards passing in the opener.

But they couldn't overcome the Bills and Josh Allen, who tallied 389 yards in the air against what was supposed to be one of the best secondaries in football. Safety Kyle Hamilton and cornerback Marlon Humphrey are Pro Bowlers who were part of a defense that had a historic meltdown. Flacco doesn't move as well as Josh Allen so the Ravens will need to produce more than the one sack (Nnamdi Madubuike) they recorded last week against the Bills.

Injury Report for Baltimore

  • Fullback Patrick Ricard: Calf (out)
  • Defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike: Ankle (Questionable)
  • Tight end Isaiah Likely: Foot (out)
  • Safety Ar’Darius Washington: Achilles (OUT)

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens Pick

Spread Pick for Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • Baltimore Ravens -11.5 (5 units)

The Baltimore Ravens are clearly the better team on the field for this game and should be able to dominate. Last year, they dominated the Browns at home 35-10. Ravens were able to move the football at an incredible level last week, and the Browns are not going to be able to slow down this offense. With Week 1’s loss for Baltimore leaving a sour taste in their mouths after looking like the best team in the league for 55 minutes of the game, expect the Baltimore Ravens to come out swinging and win convincingly against one of the worst teams in the sport.

Over/Under Pick for Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • Under 44.5 (4 units)

It is difficult to believe in the over when the Cleveland Browns held the Cincinnati Bengals to seven yards in the second half of the game in Week 1. Derrick Henry is going to be able to run the football well, and having Lamar Jackson scramble will mean the clock will be running. Cleveland is going to need to figure out a running game as well. Expect guys like defensive end Myles Garrett and linebacker Roquan Smith to step up enough to force some punts. All in all, go with under 44.5 total points with the vig not being as high here.
