Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints Picks and Prediction for Sunday November 8 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 11/03/2026, 01:30 PM ET

Cleveland heads to New Orleans on Sunday for a 1 PM ET matchup against the Saints at Caesars Superdome. CBS has the broadcast, and the Saints are favored by 2.5 points despite having the worse record. The total is 43.5. That tells you something about how odd this matchup is. Cleveland has won five games, New Orleans has won two, and somehow the Browns are the underdogs. After watching Cleveland’s offense last weekend, I can understand why the sportsbooks aren’t particularly impressed. Check out our free NFL picks for more predictions.

Cleveland Browns Need More From Their Offense

Cleveland is 5-3 after getting beaten 27-6 by Pittsburgh on Sunday. Six points. That’s all the Browns could manage against a division rival, and there’s no way to make that sound encouraging. Cleveland had beaten Tennessee 27-24 the previous week, so the offense has shown it can produce. It just hasn’t been doing it consistently.

The Browns are at their best when they can run the football, stay ahead of the chains, and let their defense put pressure on the opponent. That’s a pretty reasonable way to win games, especially against a New Orleans team that hasn’t been particularly convincing. But when Cleveland gets behind and has to throw on obvious passing downs, things become a lot more difficult.

Here’s why I still like the Browns in this matchup. New Orleans isn’t Pittsburgh. The Saints have struggled to win games, and Cleveland has enough defensive ability to keep this close. The Browns don’t need to score 30 points to beat New Orleans. They just need to avoid another afternoon where the offense disappears completely.

New Orleans Saints Have a Chance to Get Something Going

New Orleans is 2-5 after having its bye last week. The Saints lost 16-10 to Pittsburgh in their most recent game, and before that they beat the Giants 34-27. That’s a pretty big difference in offensive production. One week they’re scoring 34, the next they’re struggling to reach double digits.

The Saints have the advantage of playing at home, and they’ve had an extra week to prepare. That matters. New Orleans should have a chance to clean up some of the problems that showed up against Pittsburgh, particularly when it comes to sustaining drives. But an extra week doesn’t automatically fix an offense that’s been inconsistent.

What concerns me about New Orleans is that Cleveland can make this a very uncomfortable game. The Browns have enough defensive talent to put pressure on the quarterback and force difficult throws. If the Saints can’t establish the run, they could end up in the same situation Cleveland found itself in last week. Lots of third-and-long situations and not enough points.

Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints Picks and Prediction

Spread Pick: Cleveland Browns +2.5

I’m taking Cleveland and the points. I know the Browns looked terrible against Pittsburgh, but I’m not throwing away a 5-3 record because of one ugly afternoon. New Orleans is 2-5, and the Saints haven’t done enough to convince me they should be laying points against a team with Cleveland’s defensive ability. The extra preparation time helps New Orleans, but I think the Browns can keep this game close and possibly win outright. Give me Cleveland +2.5.

Total Pick: Under 43.5

Give me the under 43.5. Cleveland just scored six points, and New Orleans managed only 10 in its last game. Both offenses have had better days, but neither has been consistent enough for me to expect a shootout. I think Cleveland tries to establish the run and keep the game manageable, while New Orleans looks to avoid mistakes against a capable Browns defense. The danger is a couple of short fields or defensive touchdowns pushing the score higher. Otherwise, this looks like the kind of game that could finish 20-17 or 21-20.

Final Picks: Cleveland Browns +2.5 | Under 43.5
