Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers Picks and Prediction for Sunday November 1 2026
Cleveland beat Pittsburgh earlier this season. The Browns sacked Aaron Rodgers five times, made his afternoon miserable, and walked away with a win.
So why am I taking the Steelers in the rematch?
Because Pittsburgh’s offense has looked better since then, and the Steelers are back home. I’m not pretending Cleveland is a bad football team. The Browns are 5-2 for a reason. But they’ve been getting by with some pretty tight wins, and I think Pittsburgh has enough to turn the tables.
Cleveland visits Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Sunday at 1 PM ET on CBS. The Steelers are favored by 3.5 points, and the total is 39.5. The weather looks about as good as you can expect for November: roughly 66 degrees, winds near 4 mph with modest gusts and no significant rain expected. Weather won’t be much of an excuse for either offense. The NFL season is just starting to warm up, make sure you are ready for all the games with our free NFL picks.
Cleveland Browns Have Been Winning Close Games
Cleveland is 5-2 and coming off a 27-24 win over Tennessee. That’s another victory, but it wasn’t exactly convincing. The Browns have been finding ways to win, and I respect that. You don’t accidentally get to five wins in seven games. But the offense still hasn’t been doing enough to make me comfortable laying points with them.
Cleveland averages only 19 points and about 299 yards per game. That’s 28th in scoring. The defense is the reason the Browns have a winning record. They’re allowing 20.9 points, have recorded 20 sacks and have generally made opponents work for their yards. Pittsburgh knows all about that after the first meeting. But the Browns are going to need more than 19 points if Rodgers gets comfortable.
Deshaun Watson has thrown for 1,482 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Quinshon Judkins has rushed for 317 yards and three touchdowns, while Denzel Boston leads the receivers with 372 yards and three scores. Carson Schwesinger has 64 tackles, and Mason Graham has four sacks. Those defensive players matter because Cleveland needs to pressure Rodgers again. Tytus Howard is questionable with a concussion, and defensive backs Myles Harden and Daniel Thomas are also questionable. The Browns can’t afford many missing pieces in the secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers Have Been Better Lately
Pittsburgh is also 5-2, including 3-0 at home. The Steelers have been playing better offensively over the last few weeks, and Rodgers has looked more comfortable. He’s been getting the ball out quicker, avoiding some of the mistakes that hurt him earlier, and using the running game to keep defenses honest.
The Steelers average 21.9 points and about 324 yards per game. That’s not explosive, but it’s better than Cleveland’s offense. Defensively, Pittsburgh is allowing only 19.7 points and 91 rushing yards per game. That’s the matchup I like. Cleveland already struggles to score, and now it’s facing a defense that doesn’t give up much on the ground. If the Browns have to rely on Watson throwing 35 times, I like Pittsburgh’s chances.
Rodgers has thrown for 1,699 yards with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. Jaylen Warren has rushed for 561 yards, averaging 5.5 per carry, while DK Metcalf has 374 receiving yards. T.J. Watt has six sacks, and Payton Wilson has 57 tackles. That’s enough production on both sides to make Cleveland work. Pittsburgh is missing cornerbacks Brandin Echols and Doneiko Slaughter, while Ben Skowronek is questionable. The secondary injuries are a concern, but I still like the Steelers’ defense against this Browns offense.
Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers Picks and Prediction
Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5
I’m taking Pittsburgh minus 3.5. Cleveland has the defense to make this ugly, and the Browns already beat the Steelers once. I haven’t forgotten that. But Rodgers has been playing better, Pittsburgh is unbeaten at home, and the Steelers have the stronger running game right now. Cleveland has been winning close games without scoring much, and that’s a dangerous way to live. I think Pittsburgh gets ahead in the second half and makes the Browns chase points. Give me the Steelers by six or seven.
Under 39.5 Points
I’ll take Under 39.5. Both teams have good defenses, and neither offense has been scoring a ton. Cleveland averages 19 points, Pittsburgh 21.9, and both clubs are allowing around 20. That’s a pretty straightforward argument for a lower-scoring game. The danger is turnovers creating short fields, especially if either quarterback gets pressured into a mistake. But I don’t see a game where both teams reach 25. Something like Pittsburgh 23-16 gets us Under.
Final Picks: Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5 and Under 39.5 Points
