Denver Broncos Finding Ways to Win

Denver hasn't needed many points to win its last two games. The Broncos got past the Chargers 23-17 before beating Seattle 17-14 in overtime on Thursday. Earlier this season, they scored 30 against the Rams and held Jacksonville to 13 in another victory. Their only defeat in the past five outings came against San Francisco, which won 24-14. The Broncos have scored 114 points in six games and allowed 125. They've also been limited to 252.2 yards per outing, although their four victories have kept them near the top of the AFC West.

The passing game hasn't produced much yardage for Denver. Bo Nix has completed 114 of 189 passes for 1,049 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions. J.K. Dobbins has handled most of the carries, rushing 81 times for 270 yards and two scores. Jaylen Waddle leads the receivers with 228 yards on 22 catches, and Evan Engram has added 134 yards. Denver has also been getting contributions from its defense. Zach Allen has recorded 4.5 sacks, and Alex Singleton leads the team with 68 tackles through six games.

Injuries: Tyler Badie is questionable. Sam Ehlinger, Tyler Onyedim, Talanoa Hufanga and Jordan Jackson are inactive.

Arizona Cardinals Trying to Build on a Win

Arizona finally got some relief against the Rams. The Cardinals won 18-16 Sunday after dropping four straight. Detroit had scored 45 against Arizona the week before, while the Giants and 49ers each put up 36 during the losing streak. The Cardinals allow 29.7 points and 350.5 yards per game. On offense, Arizona averages 21.0 points and 307.3 yards. Their running game has produced 96.3 yards per outing, leaving the passing attack with plenty of work to do.

Jacoby Brissett has thrown for 1,328 yards and nine touchdowns, but his six interceptions have hurt Arizona. Trey McBride has been his favorite option, catching 49 passes for 361 yards and three scores. Michael Wilson has added 320 receiving yards. Jeremiyah Love leads the team with 245 rushing yards, averaging 3.7 per carry. On defense, Budda Baker has 3.5 sacks, and Mack Wilson Sr. leads the Cardinals with 44 tackles. Arizona's win over the Rams was encouraging, but moving the ball against Denver presents another challenge.

Injuries: Carson Beck, Wydett Williams Jr., Andrew Wingard, Jerrick Reed II and Starling Thomas V are inactive.

Key To The Game

Denver hasn't needed a high-powered offense to win close games. Arizona's defense, however, has allowed nearly 30 points a week. The Cardinals need Brissett to protect the football and the defense to avoid giving Nix easy scoring opportunities.

Denver Broncos vs Arizona Cardinals Pick

  • Denver Broncos -4.5

Denver has won four of its last five games, while Arizona only just ended a four-game skid. The Broncos haven't scored much, but their defense is allowing 20.8 points per game. Arizona gives up 29.7 and has struggled to stop opponents throughout the season. Nix won't need a huge passing day if Denver can force mistakes and control field position. The Broncos will cover the 4.5-point spread in Glendale Sunday.

Denver Broncos vs Arizona Cardinals Over/Under Pick

  • Under 42.5

Denver's last two victories ended 17-14 and 23-17, and the Broncos average only 19.0 points per game. Arizona has defensive problems, but its offense managed just 18 points against the Rams on Sunday. Brissett also has six interceptions, which could interrupt drives against Denver. The Broncos have kept three of their past five opponents below 20 points. This matchup will finish under the 42.5-point total on Sunday afternoon in Glendale.
