Green Bay Packers vs Cleveland Browns Pick and Prediction September 21st, 2025

By: Seamus Cole Published 09/19/2025, 10:13 PM ET

The Packers will look to improve to a 3-0 record as they face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST in Huntington Bank Field. Check out our Green Bay Packers vs Cleveland Browns pick and prediction here!

Green Bay is looking like a Super Bowl contender after the past two weeks, defeating the Lions and Commanders in succession. They are leading the NFC North division, and they look like the main competition for the Eagles in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Browns are still reeling from all the poor decisions they've made in the past few years. They are currently last in the AFC North with an 0-2 record, and I will be more than surprised if they come up with a win here. The Packers are favored by 7.5 points in this one while the total is set at 41.5 points. Can the Browns make things interesting at home?

Green Bay Going Big

Green Bay defeated Washington by a score of 27-18 in a statement victory last Thursday. The score was closer than how the game really played out, as the Packers dominated on the defensive end, with Washington scoring 15 of the 18 points in the 4th quarter, including a garbage-time touchdown. Jordan Love went 19/31 for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Josh Jacobs was the leading rusher with 23 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown, while Tucker Kraft had a huge day with six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown. Edgerrin Cooper led the defense with seven tackles and three tackle assists while also recording half a sack. Three others earned half a sack while Rashan Gary and Devonte Wyatt had one sack each.

Jordan Love remains a solid option going forward for Green Bay at the QB position, completing 66% of his passes for 480 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. Jacobs is the leading rusher with 150 yards on 42 carries and two rushing touchdowns. With his tremendous week two, Kraft now leads the team with 140 yards and eight receptions. He also has the most touchdown receptions with two. Romeo Doubs is just a few yards shy of reaching 100 yards, but he will certainly eclipse that next week. The Packers currently rank 12th in yards per game, 12th in passing, 18th on the ground, and 6th in scoring with an average of 27 points per game. All the Packers need to do is stay consistent and a playoff spot is all but certain.

The Packers got a huge upgrade on defense right before the season started with Micah Parsons, and it seems that the Packers have one of the best defenses in the NFL now. Cooper has the most tackles with 22, and that includes 15 solo tackles. Quay Walker and Javon Bullard each have 10+ solo tackles as well. Rashan Gary and Devonte Wyatt each have two sacks to their name, while Parsons has 1.5. Keisean Nixon has the most passes defended with five, and Evan Williams is the only one for Green Bay to have an interception on the season. Overall, Green Bay is 3rd in yards against per game, tenth in yards against through the air, 2nd in yards against on the ground, and 4th in scoring defense with 15.5 points per game. Like the offense, all they need is to stay consistent and injury-free to remain a Super Bowl contender. Nine players are currently listed on the injury report for the Packers, but Jayden Reed was the only one not to participate in practice. Six players, including Josh Jacobs were limited participants in practice, but I expect him and the others to play in this one.

Browns are Bad

Cleveland got demolished by the Ravens in week two, losing by a score of 41-17. Joe Flacco completed 25/45 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Dillon Gabriel also threw a TD pass in the effort in garbage time. Quinshon Junkins finally took the field as the starting RB and ran for 61 yards on ten carries. Cedric Tillman and Dylan Sampson each had a TD reception, but Jerry Jeudy led the team with 51 yards receiving and Harold Fannin Jr. had a team-high five receptions. Greg Newsome II had the most tackles with six and one tackle assist while Edge Myles Garrett had 1.5 sacks and Devin Bush also added a sack.

Many people lost count of how many QBs the Browns had on the roster as we got to the beginning of the year, but for right now, it is Joe Flacco's team, as he has taken the majority of reps as the starting QB. So far, he has completed 62.2% of his passes for 489 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Shedeur Sanders was drafted this year, and it will be interesting to see when they give him a chance, should Flacco not do well in the next couple of weeks. In one game, Junkins leads the ground game with 61 rushing yards, but Raheim Sanders has the only rushing TD so far. Jerry Jeudy has the most receiving yards with 117, but Harold Fannin Jr. has the most receptions with 12 and is close in yards with 111. Cedric Tillman has the most TD receptions with two. Although it is early, the Browns currently rank 16th in yards per game, tenth in passing, 27th in rushing, and 27th in scoring with 16.5 points per game. Cleveland is hoping Junkins can get going and elevate the rushing attack, but the Packers' defense will pose a challenge.

On defense, Devin Bush leads the squad in total tackles with 15, but Greg Newsome II has a team-high nine solo tackles. Four players are in double-digits in tackles already, while Garrett expectedly leads the team in sacks with 3.5. Bush has a team-high three passes defended while nobody has an interception for Cleveland yet. Interestingly, the Browns are the #1 team in yards against after facing the Bengals and Ravens. They rank 3rd against the pass, #1 against the rush, and yet rank 26th in scoring defense with 29 points given up per game. Obviously, it's a mixture of bad luck and field positioning with those numbers, but if the offense can do better, it will make this defense even better. Eight players are technically on the injured list for Cleveland, but Joel Bitino and Mike Hall Jr. did not participate in practice. DeAndre Carter and Jack Conklin were limited in practice while the rest fully participated.

Packers vs Browns Pick

Spread Pick for Packers vs Browns

  • Packers -7.5 (5 units)

Cleveland is still a mess, and their 0-2 start shows it. It does not help them in the slightest playing against arguably the most confident team in the NFL right now. The Packers should be able to tire the defense out since their own defense will make things incredibly different for Cleveland's offense. Joe Flacco cannot move like he used to, and the Packers have multiple rushers to get after the quarterback. While the Browns might keep it close early, the Packers should be able to make it difficult for Cleveland's defense with options both on the ground and through the air. Provided that Jordan Love continues to be mistake-free, Green Bay should run away with the win like the Ravens did last week.

Over/Under Pick for Packers vs Browns

  • Under 41.5 (4 units)

If I had to make a scoring prediction, I'd go along the lines of a 27-10 victory for the Packers. I'm taking the under, particularly because both defenses are top three in yards against and rushing yards against. Green Bay held the Lions and Commanders to an average of 15.5 points per game. Those are two solid offenses, and Cleveland is a significant downgrade from that. I'd be surprised if the Browns score 17,+ and I expect Green Bay to run out the clock a bit more in the second half as they establish a comfortable lead.
