Following their bye week, the Packers have rattled off two straight wins and, in the process, moved to the top of the NFC North. Last weekend, they trailed by a touchdown going into the fourth quarter before outscoring Arizona, 14-3, over the final 15 minutes. They got by with the offense only gaining 262 yards and 19 first downs, while the defense allowed 330 yards and 23 first downs.
Green Bay comes to the table with the seventh-best scoring offense in the league, scoring 26.4 points per game. They are gaining 343.3 total yards, with 225.8 coming via their passing attack. Jordan Love had a season-low 179 passing yards last Sunday. This season, the Packers’ QB completed 69.3% of his passes for 1,438 yards, 10 touchdowns, two interceptions and he’s been sacked 10 times. Tucker Kraft and Romeo Doubs each have over 20 catches, over 300 receiving yards, and four touchdown receptions. The team averages 117.5 yards each week, with Josh Jacobs the team leader with 414 yards and eight touchdowns, second most in the league.

Steelers streak stumped
The Steelers had the same bye week as Green Bay, but they’ve split their two games coming off their rest week. Their loss to Cincinnati snapped a three-game winning streak. They were less than two and a half minutes from making it four straight before they allowed the Bengals to drive down the field and kick a 36-yard, game-winning field goal with seconds remaining.
This matchup comes with one of the more intriguing storylines of the early season as Aaron Rodgers goes up against the team where he spent 18 seasons. Last week, the 41-year-old threw for 249 yards, and on the year, he has 1,270 yards, 14 touchdowns, five interceptions, and he’s been sacked nine times. He’s helped the offense average 25 points, tied for 11th in the league, and 297.5 total yards per game, 24th overall. The running game ranks 25th in the league with an average of 94.5 yards per game. Jaylen Warren leads the team with 311 rushing yards this season after producing the team’s first 100-yard rushing performance of the season last week when he went for 127 yards.
The Pittsburgh scoring defense is giving up 23.3 points per game, 19th in the NFL. They are giving up 374.7 total yards each week, the fifth-highest mark in the league. Against the run, they rank 18th, allowing 115.8 yards, and against the pass, they rank 31st, giving up 258.8 yards per game. The Steelers are tied for fifth with 22 sacks, and they’ve recorded five interceptions. Patrick Queen and Payton Wilson lead the team with 48 tackles each, and they both have five tackles for loss. These two last met in 2023, a game the Steelers won by four points as -3.5 favorites at home. Rodgers is the big story coming into this game, and I think he’ll be a big factor. The spotlight is on, and he has the benefit of having the home crowd behind him. The Steelers’ QB completed 65.1% of his passes over the first three games, but over the last three, he’s completed 72.1%, so Rodgers, who hasn’t been sacked in the last two games, is hitting his stride. For the Packers, Jacobs is dealing with a calf issue, so against a strong rushing defense, I don’t expect the Green Bay running game to get off the ground. Last week, the Cardinals laid out the blueprint on how to slow Love, which the hosts would be wise to review. Pittsburgh has straight-up won the last three games between these two teams that were played at home. Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin is also great as a home dog at 21-7-3 ATS heading into this game.

This matchup features a pair of top half offenses going toe-to-toe. Combined, they average 51.3 points per game. Under the Sunday Night lights, I’m looking to those offenses to rise to the occasion. Pittsburgh scored 31 points in a loss last weekend and has scored at least 23 points in three straight weeks. Do not underestimate the Rodgers factor in this one. The future Hall of Fame is running out of moments like this, but he still has plenty in the tank to light it up in these moments. Green Bay scored 27 points in each of their last two weeks, and before that, they put up 40 in a tie. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
