The NFL has plenty of great rivalries, and in recent times, this has become one of the best as we take a look at our Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills prediction.

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) once again come into the new season full of expectations, and while they've not been at their best, with their championship pedigree, this is never a team that anyone in the NFL can take lightly.

On Sunday, they battle a familiar foe in the Buffalo Bills (5-2), a team that is still finally looking to get over the hump in 2025, and on the back of a very solid start, hopes are once again very high for this squad. Read on to see or Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills prediction.

If you are struggling to pick winners, you've come to the right place. We have the strongest NFL Predictions

Can the Chiefs score another big win over a top rival?

The Kansas City Chiefs have been as dominant as any team in the NFL over the past decade, and with the team picking up three straight victories coming into this one, they're finally piling up momentum as they look to make their way to yet another Super Bowl. Once more, the Chiefs' offense has been among the best in the NFL this season as they average 27 points a night in 2025, and with their defense allowing just 16, it's easy to see why they are once again favored in a loaded AFC this season. They are averaging 415.8 yards per game and 273.9 passing yards.

Getting a healthy WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and WR Rashee Rice back from suspension. However, they may have to rely on their receivers and TE Travis Kelce even more now that Isiah Pacheco (knee) is going to miss this game and possibly a few more.

As usual, star Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been dominant in 2025, posting a 17/4 TD/INT in what may be another MVP-level campaign, and with nine rushing scores this season, they've struck a very solid balance on the offensive side of the ball. Last time out for the Chiefs was a victory over the Washington Commanders, with the team rushing for 148 yards on the day as Mahomes tossed three touchdowns, and with the defense limiting their opponent to just 280 yards on the day, they came away winners 28-7.

Injury report: Isiah Pacheco (did not practice). Hollywood Brown, Trey Smith (limited practice). Kareem Hunt, Jawaan Taylor (full practice).

Can the Bills make a regular season statement?

The Buffalo Bills have been on the verge of something special for a number of years now, and with the team off to a 5-2 start with a 3-1 record at home, confidence is as high as ever that 2025 could finally be the year for them to make their way to the Super Bowl. With a top-tier MVP candidate leading the way, it's no surprise that the Bills average 30 points a game in 2025, and with a defense that holds their opponents to just 21 points a game, this may finally be the year for Josh Allen.

After his maiden MVP a year ago, Allen is once again dominating in 2025, tossing 12 Touchdowns to just four interceptions, and with a further five scores on the ground, this team will go as far as Allen can take them this season. Last time out for the Bills was a dominant win over the Carolina Panthers, with James Cook the star of the show as he rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns on the day, with the defense forcing three turnovers to lead them to the 40-9 victory.

The defense gets a lift as LBs Matt Milano (pec) and Terrel Bernard (ankle) are expected to return. The Bills' defense has struggled against the run, allowing 150.3 yards per game to rank 31st. Fortunately, they are strong against the pass (161.9ypg, 2nd), which is crucial against Mahomes.

Injury report: Shaq Thompson (did not practice). Joey Bosa, Jordan Phillips (full practice). Matt Prater (limited practice).

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills picks

Moneyline pick for Chiefs vs. Bills

  • Buffalo +1 (4 units)

This is perhaps the most exciting rivalry in the NFL right now, and in their last six head-to-head matchups since the 2022 campaign, and when they do battle, it's incredibly unpredictable.

This year, the Chiefs' defense has been elite, but in their last regular-season meeting in Buffalo, the Bills came away winners 30-21, and with home-field advantage, expect the juggernaut Bills to come away victorious in a blockbuster showdown. Getting the linebackers in Milano and Bernard back will help tremendously on the defensive end. Josh Allen shows up big for this one in a revenge game over last year's 32-29 AFC Championship loss from KC.

Over/under pick for Chiefs vs. Bills

  • Over 49 (4 units)

Despite possessing two great defenses, whenever these teams do battle it descends into a shootout, with the over being 3-0 in their last three head-to-head encounters, with the average point total in that time being 54.

For the Chiefs, the over sits at 4-4 this season, with 28 or more points scored in five straight games, and for the Bills, the over comes in at 4-4 in eight games in 2025, with the team scoring 30 or more points in six of those games.

Keep it simple, take the over.
