Raiders Break Losing Streak
Las Vegas is coming off a huge win last week against the Titans with a final score of 20-10. This win would break up a four-game losing streak for the Raiders as they aim to build off their week six win over Tennessee. The Raiders are heading on the road for their fourth time this season in which they have a record of 1-2.
The Raiders' issue this season has been their lack of offense as they rank 29th in points generated this season. Las Vegas has failed to generate much offense as their run game continues to struggle, ranking 19th in rushing yards this season with an average yards per carry of 4.0. To combat this, the Raiders have focused more on their defense to grab wins. Geno Smith has thrown for 1,350 yards and seven touchdowns, but he leads the league in interceptions with 10.
Unfortunately, the Raiders are also struggling on defense, ranking 24th in points allowed, but are 12th in total yards allowed. Las Vegas is tenth in first downs allowed and has locked down the run game, sitting 11th in rushing yards allowed. However, the Raiders' pass defense has not been as strong, sitting 18th in passing yards allowed, allowing an average of 6.9 yards per reception. Las Vegas will likely struggle against a Chiefsβ team that ranks eighth overall in passing yards this season.

Chiefs Grab Much-Needed Win
The Chiefs picked up a win last week against the Lions with a final score of 30-17. This win would improve the Chiefs to a 3-3 record and would improve their home record this season to 2-1. Kansas City still has a great chance at taking the AFC West, but it will need to focus on its defense if it wishes to contend.
Kansas City is thriving on offense this season, ranking eighth in scoring and seventh in yards. The key to their offense has been their impressive pass game led by Patrick Mahomes, ranking eighth in passing yards. Mahomes is averaging 252.3 yards per game this season and has eleven touchdowns in his six games played. The Chiefs will be increasing their offensive output with the return of wide receiver Rashee Rice to the lineup. Rice was serving a six-game suspension due to his actions off the field and will now return to the lineup against the Raiders. Rice played four games last season and generated 288 yards with an average of six yards per reception and two touchdowns.
Defensively, the Chiefs rank 26th in the NFL in yards per rushing attempt allowed at 4.7 and 8th against the pass (192ypg). On offense, they average 118.7 rushing yards per game (14th) and 241.3 passing yards (9th).

Raiders versus Chiefs Picks and Predictions
Spread Pick for the Raiders vs Chiefs
- Chiefs -11.5 (-115) (4 units)Β
The Raiders have a 1-3 record against the spread as underdogs this season. Mahomes has thrived in his career against the Raiders at home as he has a passer rating of 95.7 with 1,887 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions in 7 games. The addition of Rice back in the lineup is only going to help the passing game, which is already good. Las Vegas has a huge weakness on defense in stopping the pass game, which the Chiefs excel at. Geno Smith has been a turnover machine this season, and he's going against a tough defense. This game is going to turn into less of a defensive battle and who can go drive for drive and point-generating battle. Due to this, I have to side with the Chiefs to outscore the struggling Raiders.
Over/Under Pick for Raiders vs. Chiefs
- Over 45.5 (-112) (4 units)Β
The Raiders have an over/under record of 7-3 in their last ten games against the Chiefs. The Raiders are going to be forced to abandon their defense as they will likely be unable to stop the Chiefsβ pass game. Because of this, we should expect a back-and-forth competitive game where both teams strive to score points rather than stopping drives. Unfortunately, I do not have as much faith in the Raiders to generate points as I do the Chiefs. This total is largely going to be determined by the Chiefs, and they alone can nearly take us over this total.
