Chargers staying stable
The Chargers have won three straight games to stay a game behind red-hot Denver in the AFC West. In their win over Pittsburgh, the defense allowed only 10 points for the second time in their last three games, and the offense was able to make a 12-3 halftime lead hold up.

Their total offense averages 368.5 yards per game, also eighth in the league, behind the league’s seventh-best pass offense which is averaging 245.4 yards a game. Jaguars taking steps back
The Jaguars are in the middle of a run of four road games in five weeks, and after opening with a win in Vegas, they fell in Houston last week before returning home. They were in firm control last weekend, leading 29-10 before allowing the Texans to outscore them, 26-0, in the fourth quarter.
Jacksonville’s defense has allowed at least 29 points in each of their last three games. They rank 20th in the league in scoring defense, allowing 24.4 points per game this season. The 344.6 total yards per game allowed ranks 23rd overall. They actually have the fifth-best run defense in the league, allowing just 91.7 yards per game, but versus the pass they are giving up 252.9 yards per game, fifth most overall. The Jags are second in the NFL with 12 interceptions, but are tied for last with 12 sacks. Travis Ettienne Jr. is 12th in the league with 656 yards on the ground. The Jags' passing attack ranks 19th with 204.6 yards per game. Trevor Lawrence had his worst game of the season last week, completing just 56.5 passes for 158 yards. The Jags’ QB has 1,998 passing yards on the year with 10 TDs, 7 INTs and 26 sacks. Brian Thomas Jr, who leads the team with 30 catches and 420 yards, did not play last week and is questionable for this game.

Chargers vs. Jaguars Picks
Spread Pick for Chargers vs. Jaguars
- Chargers -3 (5 units)
These two last met in 2023, a game the Jags won by a point at home. The teams are headed in different directions heading into this matchup, as Jacksonville continues to spiral after a 4-1 SU start. They averaged 9.5 points in their last two home games, both against top 10 defenses, which the Chargers also bring to the table. The Jags have question marks across most of their starting offensive line and even in their depth. They are also banged up in the wide receiver department, and Lawrence looked lost last week without his top target, Thomas, on the field. The Chargers have themselves a very good head of steam and a bye week following this, so they’ll be looking to go all out here. Their current three-game winning streak has come with a 13-point margin of victory per game. They are also 3-1 SU on the road this season, with the wins coming by an average of 6.7 points per game. Los Angeles is 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS in the last ten meetings between these two.
Take the Chargers.
Over/Under Pick for Chargers vs. Jaguars
- Over 44.5 (5 units)
These two combined for 61 points when they met two years back, crushing the over against a 46.5-point total. The offenses on these two teams rank in the middle of the league in terms of scoring, each averaging over 22 points per game. Los Angeles has been in great shape of late, scoring at least 24 points in five straight games, with 27 or more in three of those. I fully expect Herbert to move the Chargers offense up and down the field all night, so they should have plenty of scoring chances. The Jags scored at least 26 points in four of their last six efforts. This could be a good chance for them to get Ettienne back on track, and if Jacksonville gets the run game established, the points should follow. The over is 8-2 in the last ten games between these two teams.
Take the over.
