Los Angeles Rams Need More Points From Their Offense
The Rams have had two very different losses in the past week. They scored 34 against Buffalo and still lost in overtime, then managed only 16 points against Arizona. Before those games, Los Angeles had gone to Philadelphia and picked up a 24-20 victory. The offense has moved the football throughout the season, with the Rams averaging 401.3 yards per game. Only two teams have gained more yards per outing. Despite that, Los Angeles is scoring just 22.5 points a week. The Rams haven't been getting enough points out of all that yardage.
Matthew Stafford has thrown for nearly 300 yards per game this season, completing 164 of his 249 passes. He's recorded 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Davante Adams has been his main target, picking up 480 yards on 30 receptions. Four of those catches have gone for touchdowns. Puka Nacua has missed two games but has still managed 417 receiving yards on 37 catches. Kyren Williams is getting plenty of work as well. He's rushed 80 times for 393 yards and four touchdowns, along with another 217 yards on 30 receptions. Defensively, Quentin Lake has two interceptions, while Byron Young has 3.5 sacks.
Injuries: Blake Grupe is questionable. Ty Simpson, Trent McDuffie, Tutu Atwell and Larrell Murchison are inactive.
Las Vegas Raiders Have Defensive Problems
The Raiders couldn't stop Buffalo from scoring 33 points on Sunday, and that wasn't their worst defensive performance lately. New England put 45 on Las Vegas the week before, while Kansas City scored 30 in another loss. The Raiders have now dropped three straight despite scoring 27 or more points in two of those games. Las Vegas has put up 162 points through six games, averaging 27.0 per outing. Opponents have scored exactly the same amount. The Raiders are also giving up 371.7 yards per game, with 134.3 coming on the ground.
Kirk Cousins has thrown for 1,582 yards through six games, completing 135 of 213 passes. He's connected on 14 touchdown throws, although he's also been intercepted five times. Brock Bowers has played only four games but already has 28 catches for 382 yards and three touchdowns.
Brock Bowers has missed two games but still leads the Raiders with 382 receiving yards. Tre Tucker is right behind at 371, and both players have caught three touchdown passes. Ashton Jeanty has handled 98 carries, gaining 313 yards, while Mike Washington Jr. has rushed for 168. On defense, Nakobe Dean has 56 tackles and Hezekiah Masses has intercepted three passes. Las Vegas needs that group to give Cousins more help.
Injuries: Aidan O'Connell, Cian Slone, Tristin McCollum, Tonka Hemingway and Dalton Johnson are inactive.
Key To The Game
The Rams allow 23.0 points per game, compared with 27.0 for Las Vegas. The Raiders need to stop Williams on the ground without leaving Adams and Nacua open downfield. Stafford also needs to avoid costly interceptions.
