Vikings vs. Packers Picks
Spread Pick and Prediction for Vikings vs. Packers
- Green Bay -5.5 (5 units)
Last season the Vikings won both meetings, SU and ATS. That was a very different Minnesota squad, one that was much more harmonious and in tune with each other than the current iteration is. They have been unable to get their offense in motion, and even more so in the wake of the return of McCarthy. As banged up as Green Bay is, Minnesota is just a mess in general. They seem to be lacking direction at this point and not many have been standing up for their young, struggling quarterback, whom they expected the world from. Coming to Lambeau Field and having to face a strong Packers’ defense is not going to help the young gun. On the flip side, Green Bay got back on track on the road last weekend, and with a division rival in front of them, they’ll be roaring to go. Love’s ability not to make mistakes is a major factor in the team’s succes,s and he should be okay against a defense that’s only picked off three passes all season.
Take the Packers giving the points.
Over/Under Pick for Vikings vs. Packers
- Over 41 (5 units)
Last season, the teams averaged a combined 59 points per game in two meetings. Division games bring out the best in both sides. Minnesota recently put up 27 points in Detroit, a team with a similar defense to Green Bay. So, while the Vikings have endured some big-time struggles of late, they should be able to contribute enough to the cause. They’ve scored at least 19 points in three of their last fiv,e and that should be plenty. Speaking of 27 points, the Packers scored exactly that much on five occasions and three of them were at Lambeau. The over is 6-4 in the last ten games between the teams and is a combined 11-8-1 this season.
Take the over.
