New England Patriots vs Cincinnati Bengals, Picks and Prediction November 23rd, 2025

By: Seamus Cole Updated 11/22/2025, 10:49 AM ET

Two teams looking to improve upon their current standings will square off when the Bengals host the Patriots on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST in Paycor Stadium. Check out our New England Patriots vs Cincinnati Bengals pick and prediction here!

New England is at the top of the AFC and the NFL with a 9-2 record. They have won their last eight in a row and are an impressive 5-0 on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Bengals are essentially already out of contention for a playoff spot with a 3-7 record. It would take Joe Burrow coming back along with another miracle to put them at one of the wild card spots. The Patriots are favored by 6.5 points while the total is set at 51 points. Can the Patriots continue their resurgence with their ninth win in a row here?

New England Back to the Old Ways

The Patriots continue to churn out wins, this time defeating the Jets by a score of 27-14. Drake Maye was efficient with 25/34 completions for 281 yards and a touchdown, while TreVeyon Henderson led the rushing attack with 19 carries for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Stefon Diggs had the most productive day among the receivers with nine catches for 105 yards, but Henderson caught the only TD pass on the day. Robert Spillane had five tackles and four tackle assists for the Patriots, while Christian Barmore and Elijah Ponder had one sack each on the day.

Drake Maye is among the top considerations for MVP this year with his play. So far, he has completed 71.9% of his passes for 2,836 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Henderson leads the New England ground game with 100 carries for 492 yards and five touchdowns. Stefon Diggs is the #1 receiver on the squad with 59 receptions for 659 yards and three TD receptions, but there is decent depth behind him as well. Hunter Henry is second on the team in receptions with 34 and Kayshon Boutte has the most touchdown receptions on the season with five. Mack Hollins and Demario Douglas also fill out complementary roles, and they produce when you least expect it. Overall, the Patriots rank 9th in yards per game, 7th through the air, 20th on the ground, and 7th in scoring with an average of 26.5 points per game.

Robert Spillane anchors the defense with his team-high 90 total tackles, including 43 solo tackles. To put it in perspective, nobody else has more than 55 total tackles. K'Lavon Chaisson leads the formidable front of New England with 6.5 sacks, but Harold Landry III is not far behind him with 5.5 sacks of his own. Marcus Jones has the most passes defended for the Patriots with nine and he is one of three different players to have two interceptions on the season. The Patriots as a defensive unit rank 8th in yards against per game, 17th against the pass, #1 against the run, and 5th in scoring defense with an average of 18.7 points per game surrendered.

Key Injury Report for Pats:

Among the 13 injured players for the Patriots, Diggs, Chaisson, Boutte, and Landry III are the biggest names. Diggs was the only one of those four limited in practice, however.

Bengals are Bad Without Burrow

Cincinnati fell flat against their divisional opponent in the Steelers, falling by a score of 34-12. Joe Flacco completed only 23/40 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Chase Brown totaled 99 yards rushing and Tee Higgins led the receiving core with 63 receiving yards on three receptions, including a touchdown. Chase Brown had the most receptions, however, with six. Geno Stone led the defense with four tackles and five tackle assists while Myles Murphy had the only sack on the day for the Bengals.

Jake Browning has been the backup for Joe Burrow at QB for the Bengals, and in 2025, he has not performed up to expectations with a 64.5% completion percentage for 757 yards, six touchdowns, and eight interceptions. As such, Cincinnati has turned to the trade market and acquired Joe Flacco from Cleveland. Flacco currently has a 63.4% completion percentage for 1,453 yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Chase Brown is Cincinnati's leading rusher with 519 yards on 126 carries, and he has two of the five rushing touchdowns for the Bengals. As expected, Ja'Marr Chase is the primary wideout with 861 yards and 79 receptions. Tee Higgins has a team-high seven TD receptions. As a whole, Cincinnati ranks 23rd in yards per game, 14th in passing, 30th in rushing, and 18th in points per game with an average of 22.8 points per game.

On defense, Jordan Battle leads the squad in total tackles with 76, but Demetrius Knight Jr. is close behind him with 70 and Dax Hill has the most solo tackles with 42. Hendrickson is one of the few players that casual NFL fans can name on the defensive side of the ball for the Bengals, and he leads the team with four sacks. DJ Turner II has the most passes defended with 14 and Jordan Battle has three picks to his name. Cincinnati's defense was already pre-determined to be a liability before the season started, and they are ranked dead last in yards against, 31st against the pass, dead last against the rush, and last in points against per game with an average of 33.4.

Key Injury Report for Bengals

Aside from Burrow being questionable to play in this one, 12 players, including Hendrickson are on the injury report. Hendrickson is out, but Flacco was a full participant in practice. Chase will be sidelined for this one after spitting on Jalen Ramsey in their game against the Steelers.

Patriots vs Bengals Pick

Spread Pick for Patriots vs Bengals

  • Patriots -6.5 (5 units)

The line will almost certainly change once we find out more news about Joe Burrow and his status for Sunday's affair. It doesn't make much sense for the Bengals to send him out early, as they are 3-7 with an incredibly long shot of making the playoffs. Even with Burrow, I still have confidence in the Patriots here. Ja'Marr Chase being suspended helps the Patriots out significantly, as Tee Higgins will either face a double team or an excellent corner in Christian Gonzalez. Aside from Higgins and Chase, there isn't much depth in terms of pass catchers. Joe Flacco is not mobile enough to scramble against an athletic New England defense and the offense for the Patriots continues to roll under Josh McDaniels. The Bengals have proven time and time again that their defense cannot be trusted, so I expect New England to thrive here.

Over/Under Pick for Patriots vs Bengals

  • Under 51 (4 units)

The Patriots have been relatively consistent on the offensive end, scoring between 23 and 32 points in each of their last seven games. I suspect they will be on the higher end of that total when playing against an atrocious Cincinnati defense, but I can't trust the Bengals and their offensive performance in this one. The Patriots have a well-coached defense and with Ja'Marr Chase absent from this game, it affects their ability significantly. Considering they only scored 12 points against Pittsburgh's defense, I'd be shocked if they got past 20 points in this game. This contest might be closer than anticipated through the first half, but eventually New England will pull away with long drives to tire out the defense of Cincinnati.
