Saints vs Falcons Game Preview and Analysis

This matchup carries far more weight than anyone expected a month ago. If Tampa Bay wins earlier in the day, this game becomes a live scoreboard-watch scenario that could decide the NFC South. Both teams know it, and both have every incentive to stay aggressive for 60 minutes.

Atlanta controlled the first meeting on the road, holding Bijan Robinson in check but capitalizing on New Orleans’ turnovers and offensive inefficiency. That formula may not repeat exactly, but it is notable that the Saints were unable to establish anything on the ground in that contest.

New Orleans is playing its best football of the season. Tyler Shough is making a legitimate push for Offensive Rookie of the Year after a 333-yard, two-touchdown performance last week, and Kellen Moore is unlikely to repeat his conservative approach from the first meeting. Expect the Saints to put the ball in Shough’s hands early and often.

Atlanta is equally motivated. Kirk Cousins is auditioning for his future, Raheem Morris is coaching to secure his job, and the Falcons are riding a three-game winning streak. With both offenses willing to push the pace and add points late if the situation calls for it, the over is the clearest angle on the board.

Key Injuries and Notes (NO vs ATL)

  • NO: Tyler Shough is coming off a career-best performance.
  • ATL: Kirk Cousins is expected to start and play a full workload.
  • ATL: Raheem Morris is seeking a fourth straight win.

Final Score Prediction

Atlanta 27, New Orleans 24

ATS and Total Picks

  • ATS: Falcons -3
  • Total: Over 43
