New York Giants vs Houston Texans Picks and Prediction

Pick: Houston Texans -10.5

Houston appears to be finding its rhythm offensively after a difficult start to the season, and the Texans should be able to continue that success Sunday against New York. C.J. Stroud is coming off one of his best performances of the season, throwing for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns against Jacksonville. Houston has been able to generate explosive plays through the passing game, which could create problems for a Giants defense that allowed 34 points against New Orleans last week. New York will also be turning to J.J. McCarthy at quarterback, and facing Houston's aggressive defensive front will be a difficult challenge in his first start with the team. Will Anderson Jr. and the Texans' pass rush should be able to create pressure and force McCarthy into uncomfortable situations throughout the afternoon. Houston has the advantage at quarterback and should be able to capitalize on New York's offensive uncertainty to pull away and cover the double-digit spread.

Pick: Over 42.5

Houston has started to generate more offensive production over its last two games, and Sunday's matchup against New York should provide another opportunity for the Texans to put points on the board. Stroud has been effective at creating explosive passing plays, and the Giants have shown defensive vulnerabilities that Houston should be able to exploit. New York allowed 34 points against New Orleans in its last outing, including a difficult opening three quarters that forced the Giants to play from behind. Houston's ability to create pressure defensively could also lead to favorable field position and additional scoring opportunities. The Giants will need McCarthy to make plays through the air to remain competitive, and his ability to extend plays could help New York generate some offense despite the difficult matchup. Expect Houston to do most of the scoring, but New York should contribute enough to help push this game over the posted total.

Final Picks: Houston Texans -10.5 and Over 42.5
