NFL Week 6 Best Bets and Predictions for October 15–19, 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/14/2026, 11:54 PM ET

The NFL Week 6 schedule gives bettors 14 games to work with, beginning Thursday night when the Seattle Seahawks visit the Denver Broncos. Sunday's action includes an early London matchup between Houston and Jacksonville, a divisional battle between Baltimore and Cleveland, and a Sunday night meeting between Dallas and Green Bay. Washington and San Francisco finish the week Monday night.

There are some difficult numbers on this board. The Rams are laying double digits against Arizona, Kansas City is a sizable favorite against the Chargers, and New England is giving more than a touchdown to the Jets. Rather than automatically backing the better team, we're looking for wagers where the matchup and the number make sense. Check out our free NFL picks for more football predictions throughout the season.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos Best Bet

Seattle heads to Denver after a frustrating 32-29 loss to San Francisco. The Seahawks scored enough to win, but turnovers and missed opportunities helped the 49ers escape with the victory. Denver is coming off a 23-17 road win over the Chargers, although its offense hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard. Both teams enter at 3-2, and the short week won't make life easier for either offense.

Best Bet: Under 40.5 Points

Denver has struggled to move the football consistently, and Seattle's defense remains one of the better units in the league despite what happened against San Francisco. The Broncos should be able to make Seattle work for its points, particularly at home on a short week. Seattle has the offensive advantage, but asking these teams to combine for 41 points seems a little ambitious given Denver's limitations. A game decided in the low 20s is a reasonable expectation.

NFL Best Bet: Seahawks-Broncos Under 40.5

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Best Bet

Jacksonville remains in London after its dramatic 19-17 victory over Philadelphia last Sunday. The Jaguars are 4-1 and have found ways to win even when their offense hasn't been particularly sharp. Houston finally picked up its first victory by beating Tennessee 26-3. The Texans are 1-4, but that result should give them some confidence heading into their first divisional matchup of the season.

Best Bet: Houston Texans +2.5

Jacksonville deserves credit for its start, but the Jaguars haven't been dominating opponents. They needed a last-second field goal to beat Philadelphia and now face a Houston defense that just held Tennessee to three points. The Texans have been disappointing, and their offensive consistency remains a concern. Still, this is a divisional game with a relatively modest total. Houston getting points looks more attractive than laying them with Jacksonville, especially after the Jaguars' emotional victory last week.

NFL Best Bet: Houston Texans +2.5

Chicago Bears vs. Atlanta Falcons Best Bet

Chicago comes into this matchup licking its wounds after Green Bay handed the Bears a 31-7 defeat. The offense couldn't get much going, and the defense struggled to prevent the Packers from controlling the game. Atlanta lost 30-23 to Baltimore, but the Falcons at least showed enough offensive production to stay competitive against a strong opponent. The market has Chicago favored by approximately three points on the road.

Best Bet: Atlanta Falcons +3

I'm not convinced Chicago deserves to be laying a field goal away from home after last week's performance. Atlanta has its own problems, particularly defensively, but the Falcons have shown they can score against good competition. Chicago's offense needs to prove it can bounce back before I'm comfortable laying points with the Bears. Getting the full three with Atlanta is the better side of this number.

NFL Best Bet: Atlanta Falcons +3

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns Best Bet

Baltimore picked up a 30-23 victory over Atlanta last week and enters this AFC North matchup with some momentum. Cleveland wasn't nearly as impressive in its 17-12 loss to the Jets. The Browns have struggled to generate consistent offense, which is a problem against a Baltimore team capable of putting points on the board quickly. The Ravens are favored by approximately 4.5 points.

Best Bet: Baltimore Ravens -4.5

Cleveland's offense hasn't given bettors much reason to trust it. The Browns managed only 12 points against the Jets, and falling behind Baltimore would force them into a more aggressive approach. The Ravens have enough offensive balance to control this game if they avoid turnovers. Divisional matchups can be uncomfortable for favorites, but Baltimore has the better path to scoring consistently. I'll lay the points rather than count on Cleveland to suddenly find its offense.

NFL Best Bet: Baltimore Ravens -4.5

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Best Bet

Tennessee enters after an ugly 26-3 loss to Houston. The Titans couldn't sustain drives, and their defense spent too much time trying to compensate for an ineffective offense. Indianapolis also lost last week, falling 34-22 to Pittsburgh, but the Colts at least moved the football and scored three touchdowns. Indianapolis is favored by seven points at home.

Best Bet: Indianapolis Colts -7

Seven points is a substantial number, especially with an Indianapolis defense that just surrendered 34 points. Tennessee, however, hasn't shown enough offensive consistency to take advantage of those weaknesses. The Titans scored only three points against a Houston team that entered last week winless. Indianapolis doesn't need a perfect performance to cover if Tennessee continues struggling to finish drives. The Colts have the stronger offense and home-field advantage, making them the preferred side.

NFL Best Bet: Indianapolis Colts -7

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots Best Bet

New England hammered Las Vegas 45-17 last Sunday, while the Jets picked up a 17-12 victory over Cleveland. The Patriots have been more explosive offensively, but the Jets showed they can win an ugly game by limiting mistakes and keeping the score close. New England is favored by 7.5 points, a number that demands more than simply being the better team.

Best Bet: New York Jets +7.5

New England's blowout victory was impressive, but laying more than a touchdown against a division rival creates some risk. The Jets aren't likely to match the Patriots in a high-scoring contest, so they'll need to slow the game down and protect the football. Their defensive performance against Cleveland suggests they have a chance to do that. New England should win, but getting the hook above seven makes the Jets worth considering against the spread.

NFL Best Bet: New York Jets +7.5

New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants Best Bet

New Orleans lost 23-13 to Minnesota last Sunday, continuing an uneven start to the season. The Giants played Washington to a 27-27 tie, demonstrating both their ability to generate offense and their difficulty finishing games. Neither club has been particularly reliable, and the betting market reflects that with a spread hovering around a field goal or less.

Best Bet: Over 45.5 Points

The Giants just put up 27 points against Washington, and their defensive problems haven't disappeared. New Orleans struggled against Minnesota, but the Saints should have more opportunities against a Giants defense that allowed Washington to match its 27 points. Neither offense is dependable enough to make this a comfortable wager, but the defensive weaknesses on both sides create a reasonable path to the upper 40s.

NFL Best Bet: Saints-Giants Over 45.5

Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Best Bet

Philadelphia returns home after losing 19-17 to Jacksonville in London. The Eagles have struggled to finish drives consistently, and that defeat was another example of an offense that hasn't been able to separate itself from opponents. Carolina has an opportunity to take advantage of those problems, although the Panthers have their own limitations. Philadelphia is a slight favorite, with the total around 41.5 points.

Best Bet: Under 41.5 Points

Philadelphia's offense hasn't been producing the kind of scoring that would justify expecting a shootout. Carolina also isn't a team I'd trust to force the pace against a capable defense. The Eagles could win comfortably if they capitalize on turnovers, but both offenses have enough questions to make the under attractive. A game in which field position and red-zone execution determine the outcome fits this matchup better than an offensive showcase.

NFL Best Bet: Panthers-Eagles Under 41.5

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Best Bet

Pittsburgh comes into Tampa Bay following a 34-22 victory over Indianapolis. The Steelers moved the football effectively and took advantage of opportunities against a Colts defense that couldn't consistently get stops. Tampa Bay has been competitive, but the Buccaneers face a Pittsburgh team coming off one of its better offensive performances. The Steelers are favored by approximately three points.

Best Bet: Under 40.5 Points

Pittsburgh scored 34 last week, but I'm not expecting the Steelers to repeat that performance against Tampa Bay. Both teams are capable of making opponents work for their points, and the market has already pushed this total into the low 40s. The danger is that a few turnovers create short fields and change the game quickly. Still, this matchup looks more likely to become a physical contest than another Pittsburgh offensive outburst.

NFL Best Bet: Steelers-Buccaneers Under 40.5

Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams Best Bet

Arizona was embarrassed by Detroit in a 45-21 loss last Sunday. The Cardinals struggled defensively throughout the game, and those problems won't be easy to correct against a Rams offense that scored 34 points against Buffalo on Monday night. Los Angeles lost that game 37-34, but the Rams demonstrated that they can move the football against quality competition. They're favored by 12.5 points against Arizona.

Best Bet: Over 52.5 Points

The Rams have enough offensive firepower to do serious damage against an Arizona defense that just surrendered 45 points. Los Angeles also allowed 37 to Buffalo, which suggests the Cardinals could contribute to the total even if they're unable to keep the game competitive. The biggest concern is a lopsided contest in which the Rams slow things down with a comfortable lead. Still, the defensive performances from both teams last week make the over worth considering.

NFL Best Bet: Cardinals-Rams Over 52.5

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Best Bet

The Chargers return to action after a disappointing 23-17 home loss to Denver. Kansas City is favored by 8.5 points in this AFC West matchup, a substantial spread for a divisional game. The Chiefs have the advantage of playing at home, but the Chargers have enough defensive ability to make things uncomfortable if they avoid giving away easy scoring opportunities.

Best Bet: Los Angeles Chargers +8.5

Kansas City is the more reliable team, but asking the Chiefs to win by nine points against a division rival is a different proposition. The Chargers held Denver to 23 points last week and have enough defensive talent to keep this competitive. Los Angeles needs better offensive execution, particularly in the red zone, but getting more than a touchdown provides some protection. I'll take the points rather than pay a premium for Kansas City's home-field advantage.

NFL Best Bet: Los Angeles Chargers +8.5

Buffalo Bills vs. Las Vegas Raiders Best Bet

Buffalo heads to Las Vegas after beating the Rams 37-34 on Monday night. The Bills have shown they can produce points against good competition, although allowing 34 to Los Angeles exposed some defensive concerns. The Raiders are coming off a 45-17 loss to New England and have struggled to prevent opponents from moving the football. Buffalo is favored by six points, with the total sitting at 52.5.

Best Bet: Buffalo Bills -6

Las Vegas has to find a way to slow Buffalo's offense after surrendering 45 points to New England. The Bills aren't perfect defensively, but the Raiders haven't demonstrated enough consistency to make me comfortable backing them against a team capable of scoring in bunches. Buffalo is coming off an emotional Monday night victory, which creates some concern about the short turnaround. Even so, the matchup favors the Bills if their offense performs anywhere near last week's level.

NFL Best Bet: Buffalo Bills -6

Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers Best Bet

Green Bay enters Sunday night after beating Chicago 31-7, one of the Packers' strongest performances of the season. Dallas is coming off a disappointing loss to Tampa Bay and has struggled to put together consecutive victories. The Cowboys have enough offensive talent to keep pace, but their defensive consistency remains a concern against a Green Bay team that appears to be finding its rhythm.

Best Bet: Green Bay Packers -1.5

The Packers have won two consecutive games and looked particularly sharp against Chicago. Dallas can score, but the Cowboys haven't been dependable enough defensively to justify backing them on the road at Lambeau Field. Green Bay doesn't need to dominate this matchup to cover a short spread. The Packers have the better recent form, home-field advantage and enough offensive balance to take advantage of Dallas' mistakes.

NFL Best Bet: Green Bay Packers -1.5

Washington Commanders vs. San Francisco 49ers Best Bet

San Francisco returns home after beating Seattle 32-29 in a hard-fought divisional matchup. Washington played the Giants to a 27-27 tie, continuing a stretch in which the Commanders have struggled to prevent opponents from scoring. The 49ers are favored by 7.5 points, with the total around 50.5.

Best Bet: Over 50.5 Points

San Francisco just scored 32 points against Seattle, and Washington's defense allowed 27 to a Giants team that hasn't exactly been an offensive powerhouse. The Commanders have also demonstrated enough scoring ability to contribute, putting up 27 of their own last week. San Francisco could control the game through its rushing attack and defense, which would make the over more difficult. But Washington's defensive issues and the 49ers' recent offensive production point toward another game with plenty of scoring opportunities.

NFL Best Bet: Commanders-49ers Over 50.5

NFL Week 6 Best Bet of the Week

Of the 14 selections, Green Bay Packers -1.5 against the Dallas Cowboys is our NFL Best Bet of the Week. Green Bay is coming off a convincing 31-7 victory over Chicago, while Dallas continues to struggle with defensive consistency. The Packers have been more reliable recently, and the short spread means they don't need a blowout to cash the ticket.

Dallas has enough offensive ability to make this competitive, particularly if the Cowboys can establish an early lead. But Green Bay's improved form and the advantage of playing at Lambeau Field make the Packers the preferred side. With the spread below a field goal, this is one of the more attractive positions on the Week 6 board.

NFL Best Bet of the Week: Green Bay Packers -1.5
