San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants, Preview, Odds, Picks and Prediction, Sunday November 2, 2025
The NFL season is truly starting to heat up, and with so many teams battling for a playoff spot, we'll see two do battle on Sunday with our San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants prediction.
The San Francisco 49ers (5-3) came into the 2025 season highly overlooked in the NFC, and while they've been up-and-down as of late, they've still got more than enough talent to compete in the competitive NFC West.
On Sunday, they battle the New York Giants (2-6), a team that has seemingly found their future at Quarterback, but around Jaxson Dart, there are still plenty of questions left to be answered for this team. Read on to see our San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants prediction.

Can the 49ers find their momentum once again?
Early in the 2025 season, the San Francisco 49ers were rolling with three straight victories, but since then, they've gone just 2-3 as they now sit in third place in the NFC West, just one game back of both the Rams and Seahawks. Despite their success, the 49ers rank in the bottom third of the league in points this season at just 20.0 per game, but once again, the defense has been stellar, limiting opponents to just 20 a game as they look to find their momentum once more.
Between Mac Jones and Brock Purdy, San Francisco QBs have posted a 12/9 TD/INT ratio this season, and with just three rushing touchdowns, this is a team that desperately needs to find its momentum on the offensive side of the ball. Purdy has not played since Week 4 due to a toe injury. Jones is likely to start again and is 4-2 in Purdy's absence.
Last time out for the 49ers was a tough loss to the Houston Texans, with the team rushing for just 48 yards on the day as the defense did all they could before eventually falling 26-15. Christian McCaffrey was held to just 25 yards rushing in their loss at Houston.
Injury report: Trent Williams, Ricky Pearsall, Christian McCaffrey (did not practice). Brock Purdy (limited practice). Jauan Jennings, George Kittle (full practice).

Can the Giants cause a major upset?
The New York Giants have shown plenty of promise thus far in 2025, and while they sit at 2-6 on the season overall, this is a team that's been highly competitive at home, posting a 2-1 record in their three games at MetLife in 2025. Defensively, the Giants have been among the worst teams in the NFL this season as they allow 27 points a game to this point, and while the offense has shown promise under Jaxson Dart, their 22 points a night haven't been enough for consistency through eight games.
Early this season, Dart has solidified himself as the future QB in New York, posting an 8/3 TD/INT ratio in his time under center, and with an extra four scores on the ground, he's shown the dual-threat ability to give this fanbase plenty of excitement. Last time out for the Giants was a big road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, with Dart picking up a TD on the ground and through the air, but it wasn't enough as they gave up 430 yards to their NFC East foe, falling 38-20 in the process. Rookie RB Cam Skattebo also suffered a serious leg injury (dislocated ankle/broken fibula) and will miss the season.
The rushing game was a big part of the offense (118ypg), especially when the very mobile Dart took over at quarterback and Skattebo began to show his ability. He ended the season with 410 yards rushing (4.1ypc) and five TDs. Expect Tyrone Tracy Jr. (159 yds) and Devin Singletary (84yd) to try and fill his shoes.
Injury report: Cam Skattebo (out for the season). Jevon Holland (limited practice). Paulson Adebo, Daniel Bellinger (did not practice). Tyler Nubin (full practice).
San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants picks
Moneyline pick for 49ers vs. Giants
- San Francisco -2.5 (4 units)
Neither of these teams has been at their best in recent times, but on both sides of the ball, San Francisco has been much more consistent in 2025, with the team going 3-2 on the road thus far this season. The loss of Skattego is a big one for the Giants, as they lack a number one receiver with Malik Nabers (18 catches for 271 yards, 2 TDs in 4 games) out for the season.
While the Giants are 2-1 at home this year, their defense has struggled mightily as of late, and with the 49ers picking up two straight head-to-head victories against New York, expect that to continue on Sunday.
Over/under pick for 49ers vs. Giants
- Under 48.5 (4 units)
In their last head-to-head encounter, a total of 42 points were scored, and with neither of these teams being at their best offensively in recent times, this too should be a game where the defense can dominate.
For the 49ers, the under sits at 4-4 in eight games this season, with 26 points or less allowed in seven of those games, and for the Giants, the under comes in at 4-4 in their past eight, with the team scoring 21 or less points on five occasions. Injuries have really hampered both teams' offenses at quarterback, running back and wide receiver. But both have solid defenses.
Keep it simple, take the under.
