Bucs Lose A Wild One In Buffalo

Tampa Bay dropped to 6-4 after a 44-32 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, a game that featured nine lead changes and plenty of offensive fireworks. Baker Mayfield threw for 173 yards with a touchdown and added a rushing score, while Sean Tucker had his breakout performance with 106 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Despite forcing three turnovers, the Buccaneers’ defense was undone by Josh Allen’s six combined touchdowns, leaving Tampa with its second straight defeat.

Offensively, the Buccaneers have been steady all season, ranking 10th in points scored (25.2 per game). Mayfield has thrown for 2,365 yards and 17 touchdowns with only three interceptions, showing efficiency and mobility with nearly 200 rushing yards and another score. Emeka Egbuka has emerged as the top target with 717 yards and six touchdowns, while Trey Johnson and Mike Evans provide complementary threats. Tucker’s emergence adds balance to a rushing attack that has been inconsistent, but with Rachaad White also contributing four touchdowns, Tampa has multiple options to lean on.

Defensively, Tampa has struggled, ranking 21st in points allowed (25.0 per game) and near the bottom against the pass at 241.6 yards per contest. The run defense has been more reliable, holding opponents to just over 100 yards per game, but explosive plays have hurt them in recent weeks. Tykee Smith and Lavonte David continue to anchor the unit, while Antoine Winfield Jr. remains a playmaker in the secondary. Against the Rams’ high-powered passing attack, the Buccaneers will need to tighten coverage and generate pressure to avoid falling into another shootout.

Rams Have Won Five In A Row

Los Angeles improved to 8-2 after a 21-19 win over the Seattle Seahawks last week, a defensive battle where the Rams intercepted Sam Darnold four times. Matthew Stafford threw for just 130 yards but tossed two touchdowns, including Davante Adams’ league-leading 10th scoring grab. Kyren Williams added 91 rushing yards and a score, while the defense held firm late, forcing Seattle into a missed 61-yard field goal at the buzzer. The victory marked the Rams’ fifth straight win and kept them atop the NFC West.

Offensively, the Rams have been efficient, ranking sixth in points scored (27.2 per game) and eighth in total yards (360.9). Stafford is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career, throwing for 2,557 yards with 27 touchdowns against just two interceptions, good for a 112.7 passer rating. Puka Nacua has been a revelation with 850 yards and four touchdowns, while Adams continues to dominate with 569 yards and 10 scores. Kyren Williams leads the ground game with 750 rushing yards and six touchdowns, giving Sean McVay’s offense balance and versatility.

Defensively, Los Angeles has been outstanding, ranking second in points allowed (17.2 per game) and 13th in total yards allowed (323.0). The pass rush, led by Byron Young and Jared Verse, has combined for 13 sacks, while the secondary has thrived off the pressure, producing multiple interceptions in key moments. Kamren Kinchens was the star last week with two picks, and the Rams have forced 18 turnovers overall. Against Tampa Bay’s passing attack, the Rams’ ability to generate pressure and force mistakes could once again be the difference in a prime-time showdown.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Los Angeles Rams Pick

Buccaneers vs Rams Spread Pick

  • Los Angeles -6.5 (4 Units)

Backing the Rams -6.5 makes sense given both their current form and the historical angles in play. Los Angeles has won five straight and continues to look like one of the NFC’s most complete teams, with Matthew Stafford throwing 27 touchdowns against just two interceptions and Kyren Williams providing balance on the ground. Their defense has been elite, ranking second in points allowed, and they just forced four interceptions in last week’s win over Seattle. That combination of offensive efficiency and defensive dominance makes them a tough matchup for a Tampa Bay team that has struggled to stop explosive plays through the air.

The trends only strengthen the case for laying the points. The Rams are 8-1-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings with Tampa Bay, consistently finding ways to cover in this series. They’ve also gone 6-1 ATS as non-division home favorites of three or more, a spot that highlights their ability to take care of business when expected to win. With Stafford in rhythm, Davante Adams and Puka Nacua stretching defenses, and the pass rush creating havoc, Los Angeles has all the ingredients to justify the 6.5-point spread in this matchup.

Buccaneers vs Rams Over/Under Pick

  • Under 49.5 (4 Units)

The Under 49.5 makes sense here because Los Angeles has been one of the league’s most reliable defensive units, ranking second in points allowed at just 17.2 per game. Their ability to generate turnovers and force quarterbacks into mistakes has consistently kept opponents from piling up points, and last week’s win over Seattle was another example of how they can dictate tempo. Tampa Bay has weapons, but their offense has been streaky, and the Rams’ pass rush combined with disciplined coverage should keep this game from turning into a shootout. With both teams leaning on defense to control the flow, the Under 49.5 looks like the sharper side.
