Anaheim has been having a rough time lately, while Philadelphia is finally starting to pick up some wins. The Anaheim Ducks visit the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, with puck drop scheduled for 1:00 pm ET on NHL Network. Anaheim is fifth in the Pacific Division with a 4-6-0 record after losing 4-1 to New Jersey on Thursday. The Flyers are seventh in the Metropolitan Division at 3-6-3, coming off a 3-1 win over Buffalo. Philadelphia has won three straight, while Anaheim has dropped five in a row. Anaheim Ducks Can't Seem to Stop the Losing

Things haven't gone Anaheim's way for a couple of weeks. The Ducks have lost five straight games, with four of those defeats coming by at least two goals. Their latest setback came Thursday against New Jersey, where Anaheim managed just one goal in a 4-1 loss. Before that, the Ducks fell 3-2 to the Islanders and 5-2 to the Rangers. The offense has struggled to keep up, averaging 2.70 goals per game. Anaheim is also allowing 3.30 goals while putting only 23.4 shots on net each night.

Leo Carlsson has been doing his part with 11 points, including nine assists. Beckett Sennecke leads Anaheim with five goals, while Mikael Granlund and Jackson LaCombe have eight points apiece. The Ducks could use more scoring from the rest of the lineup. Goaltending hasn't helped much, either. Lukas Dostal has a 3-4-0 record with a 3.16 goals-against average and .881 save percentage. Ville Husso hasn't been much better, posting a 3.09 GAA and .888 save percentage. Anaheim needs stronger play in its own end before things turn around.

Injuries: Jeff Malott, Pavel Mintyukov, Judd Caulfield, Ian Moore and Ryan Poehling are unavailable.

Philadelphia Flyers Finally Finding Some Form

Philadelphia didn't have much to celebrate earlier this month, but the last three games have been different. The Flyers beat Ottawa 3-1, followed that with a 3-2 victory over Colorado, and then took care of Buffalo 3-1 on Wednesday. That's a welcome change after losing to Detroit and Seattle in their previous two outings. Philadelphia still averages only 1.67 goals per game, which explains why the team has struggled overall. However, allowing just four goals across three victories gives the Flyers something to build on heading into Saturday.

Matvei Michkov has been Philadelphia's biggest scoring threat, leading the team with six goals and sharing the points lead with Trevor Zegras at eight. Zegras has contributed five assists, the most on the Flyers. Goaltending has also played a role in the recent improvement. Joseph Woll owns a 2.64 goals-against average and .917 save percentage, while Dan Vladar has a 3.15 GAA and .900 save percentage. Philadelphia still gives up 31.9 shots per game, so neither goalie gets much time to relax. The Flyers need to keep helping out defensively.

Injuries: Owen Tippett, Cam York, Rasmus Ristolainen, Travis Konecny and Nikita Grebenkin are on injured reserve.

Key To The Game

Anaheim needs to find more scoring opportunities against a Philadelphia team that's been defending better recently. The Flyers have allowed only four goals over their last three games. If Anaheim continues struggling to create shots, Philadelphia could control the game without needing many goals.

Anaheim Ducks vs Philadelphia Flyers Game Pick

  • Philadelphia Flyers

Philadelphia has been playing better hockey recently, winning three straight games while keeping opponents from scoring much. Anaheim arrives on a five-game losing streak and hasn't found a way to turn things around offensively. The Ducks also have concerns in goal, with neither Dostal nor Husso posting strong numbers. Philadelphia's offense remains limited, but the Flyers have enough defensive stability to win another close game at home on Saturday.

Anaheim Ducks vs Philadelphia Flyers Over/Under Pick

  • Under

Anaheim has scored only nine goals during its five-game losing streak, while Philadelphia has allowed just four across three straight victories. Neither team generates a particularly high number of shots, and the Flyers are still averaging fewer than two goals per game. This matchup looks more likely to turn into a low-scoring contest than an offensive shootout. Expect both teams to struggle for goals, making the under the play.
