Flames on Back-to-Back
Calgary is set to take on Vegas at home on Wednesday before playing the Mammoth on the road in the second half of a back-to-back. The Flames are 1-2 to start the season and are coming off a 4-2 home loss to the St. Louis Blues. Calgary was led by Matt Coronato, who scored both goals, while Joel Farabee, Nazem Kadri, and Kevin Bahl had the assists.
The Flames will start Devin Cooley in the second half of the back-to-back, which will be his first start of the season. Cooley last played in the NHL in the 2023-24 season, where he went 2-3-1 with a 4.98 GAA and a .870 SV%, which are his only six NHL starts.

Mammoth Lose to Chicago
Utah is coming off a 3-1 road loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday. The Mammoth were tied 1-1 early into the third period, but allowed a goal with just over 11 minutes to go and an empty netter to lose. JJ Peterka had the only goal, his first with Utah, while Dylan Guenther and John Marino had the assists.
The Mammoth are expected to start Karel Vejmelka, who's 1-1 with a 1.99 GAA and a .920 SV%. In his last outing, he allowed two goals to Nashville in a 3-2 overtime win. Vejmelka is 2-5 with a 4.21 GAA and a .889 SV% in his career against Calgary.

With the Flames on the second half of a back-to-back and Cooley making his first NHL start in over a year, this is a great spot to take Utah on the puck line. Utah is a tough place to play, as the Mammoth should have success against Cooley and get out to an early lead. Vejmelka, meanwhile, will be solid in the net, while Calgary will have some tired legs with this being the second half of a back-to-back. Take Utah on the puck line, and can also take them on the 60-minute line.

The over is a great spot here, especially with Cooley in the net for the Flames. Utah's offense should be able to thrive at home here and get out to an early lead and score plenty on him.
